i used to caome over the top so i didnt need to rotate my fore arms, but since i got lessons and i started to come more from the inside i have to learn to rotate my forearms more. try putting a glove between your bicept and your chest and try swinging without a club. if you dont rotate your forearms the glove will fall out. good luck

I think that Lee Trevino used an extremely strong grip and then "held off like crazy at impact" to avoid hooking the ball. So he took this wildly strong grip, aimed 30 yards left, and hit big blocks (in the fairway with pretty good success).

It sounds like you are most of the way there.

As of late, im having trouble releasing the club and rolling my wrists. I can feel myself holding off the release and keeping the face open, but for whatever reason, I cant get myself to release the club. And to make matters worse, when I consciencely try to release the club, I end up releasing too much and I hit the ball 30 yards left. Any ideas or drills?

open the face up and try to duck hook it you wouldn play a fade but it would work for a little while,then after that your wrists would be used to turning over when you made a normal swing they would naturally rotate through

I've really been struggling with releasing the club as a result I was leaving the face open and everything was going right. I had some lessons and tried different things but my slice wouldn't go away.

Then the other morning I had the light-bulb going off kind of moment. I'd fallen into the habit of having my arms more in a U shape at address rather than a V (Elbows a little bent), as a result I couldn't rotate my right arm across. Played yesterday focusing on starting with and maintaining the V and hit it beautifully. From this position the club/arms naturally release.

Your hands don't release the clubhead- the clubhead releases your hands.

my all time favorite drill as well...

Trying to release the club with your hands will always result in inconsistancy. Try getting your arms more attached to your body. The towel under both arms drill (place a towel under both arms and hit half shots without dropping the towel). Keeping your arms more connected to your trunk will allow you to release the club more consistantly. If you are doing the towel drill right and the shots are still right, then the release isnt the problem.
