Does anybody still hit Ping i2s? I have a chance to get a set cheap, and am wondering if they are too outdated.

Ben Hogan is my swing coach.

I am in love with my g10's, they are my best clubs. The Hybrids are awesome too.

Wonderful thing about Ping is you dont need a 'fitting day', as most of their retailers are trained to properly fit you. And they'll sell you the clubs one at a time on top of that, if you cant afford a whole set at once.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

I recently bought a set of G5's (4-PW), I did not have them professionally fitted. Mine are standard black dot. They are great, I have been really happy with them. S L O W L Y bringing my handicap down. You wont be disappointed with them, go buy a set.

In the game improvement category, I would take a look at the Mizuno MX-200 (replacement for my MX-25's) and the Adams Idea A4. Both of these are forged and the Adams even comes with hybrids integrated in the set. Lots of people have high regards for the TM Burners. Also, I think that the Cobra FP(?) which I think is no longer manufactured but you can still find have been a good "sleeper" club from what I hear.

Those I2's are not to be underestimated just because of age...i still play isi-k's from '96 and they're still accurate as you know what and great distance...i switched from i2's and i still have them in case i decide one day to go back (need stiff shafts). if you have the chance to get a great deal, you won't be disappointed...

That's what the club pro and the Callaway guy both said. Usually 205 is a 6 Iron for me, and that's hitting it crisp. I probably hit 30 balls with that same club and only had 4 bad shots.

WOW.... 6 and 7 irons flying 205!!!!!! You should be on tour. Let me guess you probably bomb your driver 340-350 on average as well right???????

You act like it's impossibe for someone to hit a 7 iron 205. Just cause you can't doesn't mean its not possible. Why would the guy be lying?

Well, I am a HUGE fan of PING equiptment.

I have i10's and they are the best feeling irons.
--Considering they are blades, the forgiveness is still great.

I was looking into the s58's also, but i10's felt the best.

Callaway is garbage. I do NOT reccomend Callaway at all.

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
