It's been described to me how it looked and I tried conjuring it in my mind and I guess someone could always Photoshop it, but does anyone have actual pics of Black before it was renovated for the US Open?

Probably not.main reason is none of us old farts thought it was a big deal to play theBlack and we would and could play it several times a week.Besides who the hell wanted to carry anymore weight such as a old style camera in your bag on the Black. You can probably find them online maybe on some USGA site.

Here's an old aerial image of Bethpage taken in 1994. You can really tell the difference in the bunkering between then and now.

Thanks Chilli Dipper.

The bunkers look a tad smaller, plus the fairway bunker on #9 isn't there. Fairways look wider as well. As far as the parking lot is concerned, looks pretty full. That hasn't changed. Ha ha.

Thanks Chilli Dipper.

The fairway bunker at 9 wasn't there in 2002. It was purpose-built for this year's tournament.

I dont have pictures and i didnt play back then, but my uncle said it was pretty close to a cow patch about before the state hooked it up for the open. All of the courses there were not in the best of shape. Alot of the bunkers had crab grass growing in them, im told.
