I can't imagine what will happen to my swing if I start thinking about where my hands are when I make contact with the ball.

To me it's a lot like thinking about where my left foot is when I'm walking.

I'm right-handed so reverse for lefties.

I read that same Hank Haney article and I didn't like it. When you start tinkering with moving your hands, wrists or forearms during the downswing you risk getting your swing disconnected, with the hands and arms tensing up a bit while trying to control the swing. I like to let my lower body drive the swing, with the shoulders, arms and hands going along for the ride, allowing the club to flow through the swing. Perhaps players with more experience have the skill to time their wrist and arm movements to shape shots, like Ben posted about earlier. But for a beginner (like me) I don't think it's a good technique to focus on.

2011 Goals:
* Improve club-head speed to 90 mph with the driver
* Ensure increased speed does not compromise accuracy
* Prevent overextending on the back-swing (left-arm is bending too much at the top)
* Relax arms initially at address ( too tense)* Play more full rounds (failed from 2010)

My right hand produces all the power, and keeps the face square throughout the swing.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

I agree with Hank Haney. I only use my right hands to release the club. I use my forarms to control the clubface (but to do this properly, I have to keep left wrist flat all the time until impact)

I have tried many things, many feels, and I think this is the most effective way. At least for me. Golf swing is so complicated, so I try not to give each part of my body too many jobs.

Been busy with work so I haven't been able to work on it. But, as said above as long as I'm not rotating my forearms the right wrist unhinging shouldn't be that hard of a thing to add as it not controlling the club face. Maybe just when I want to hit a draw or maybe more permanent if I like it.
I've been hitting some pitch shots in the backyard and like it, but that a whole nother story from a full swing.
It just makes more sense then what I'm doing now with my left hand hinging the club during the backswing.
