I've heard the stories in the past, somebody has a problem with a Callaway product and it's all taken care of after a simple phone call. Still, I was hesitant. Could Callaway support really live up to the hype? I'd hoped that I'd never find out.

Well, today I did find out and, yes, Callaway support IS THAT GOOD.

I needed to stop at Golf Smith to pick up my new Leupold GX-I that I purchased during their sale last week so while I was there I figured that I'd have a new grip put on one of my I-Mix shafts. The shaft just happened to have my 8.5' FT-5 Tour N head on it at the time which I didn't think would be that big of a deal. Well, long story, err, longer... The club smith dropped my driver on the floor and put a small crack in the head! To make matters worse, there wasn't a single I-Mix component in the store (they had recently liquidated them).

There are a number of ways that I could have taken this from shrugging my shoulders to getting all upset and screaming at a manager to, well, fill in the blank however you'd like. Instead of flying off the handle, my initial knee-jerk reaction which I was able to suppress, I instead pulled up callawaygolf.com on my iPhone, hit Contact Us and made a quick phone call. A few seconds later I was talking to rep who was very friendly and understanding. She explained to me that although they don't produce the FT-5 head any longer she would either replace it with a new FT-9 head or we could work something out to get it replaced with a pre-owned FT-5 through Callaway Golf Pre-Owned. An FT-9 you say? This "tragedy" just took a turn for the better...

So, in the end, the club smith (and by extension, Golf Smith) got bailed out by the great customer service provided by Callaway Golf. Even better, I've got a shiny new FT-9 I-Mix head on the way...

This seems to be a huge plus for Callaway. I'm considering irons, and this definitely gives Callaway a little boost. What kind of customer support do other companies, specifically Adams and Taylormade have?

Callaway has some outstanding customer service after some of the posts I have read on here. Next time I look at new clubs I wont hesitate to look at the Callaway line.

My advice to you guys is that if you buy Callaway and the customer service played a role in your selection, write them a letter and let them know.

These days, good customer service is rare, so let them know that it is helping people to buy their products and it's likely they will continue to provide great service.

Well, sorry but I wish to differ. My experience with Callaway and their customer service has left a bitter taste.
I placed an order for their Top FLite IHS irons listed on their web site as a clearance item. Availability 3-5 days. I did the necessary and waited. I called customer service on the third day and was advised the clubs would go out at the end of the week. Meanwhile my order was listed as "Backorder." Come the end of the week-now day #6, I see the "Backorder" listing is now "New Order." Cool think I.
Two more days go by, still listed as "New Order" and no charge to my card.
Hmm, I call again and was advised the Top Flite IHS Iron set is unavailable and no further stock is expected. Someone was suppose to call me. I need to cancel. However, the dude sez we have nice used clubs for sale.
So I cancel.
Their web site still shows 3-5 day availability...
