Looks like the seller is legit, but that price will shoot up in 72 hours. Can't hurt to bid $2 and pray...

I don't think there are enough prayers in the world for it to stay that low. Seller looked good, I just wanted to make sure that others thought the seller was legit.

still has 4 days 21hrs left ... it will definitely go up in price. Don't bid until the final 15 seconds of an auction. I never bid on anything on eBay until 10 seconds or less left and I win 95% of the time. The other 5% someone bid higher than I am willing to pay

Just sit back and remember the exact time it goes off. Bidding now will only cause the price to go higher in the long run.

It has 4 days 21 hours left on it. It will increase rapidly, faster and faster until it reaches the end. I don't really use eBay, but I didn't notice a buy out price either. So it will definitely increase a ton.

Edit: Beaten to it by a bunch of people.

Based on the seller's feedback, I'd say it is most likely legit. There are two strategies for bidding on ebay. One is to just put in the max you are willing to pay and sit back and see if you win. The other is to put it on your watch list and swoop in at the last moment to buy it. The second strategy does seem to work better, but if an auction ends at a time you can't be sitting in front of the computer waiting for it, you have to default back to the first option.

What if you have a phone such as the Blackberry or the iPhone, could you just totally whatever eBay options you want.

If you're really gung-ho to win without driving the price up, there are some services that will "snipe" for you. The first that comes up on a google search is http://www.auctionsniper.com/default2.aspx - for 1% of the price of a winning bid, they'll swoop in during the closing moments of the auction with your bid. (Note: I know nothing about this company beyond the fact that they were the first hit for a google on "ebay sniping software.")

I've never used such a service; I used to do it the "old-fashioned way" by sitting by the computer and clicking like crazy... but it is worth a shot.

Other than if it ends while you are sleeping. For example, I work nights so the ones that end at noon are terrible for me. That is pretty much dead center in the middle of my sleep period. Unless it is something I really want badly, I'm not waking up to bid. I'll bid what I'm willing to pay before I go to bed and if I lose, so be it. In fact I have just such a bid right now for a driver that will end tomorrow while I'm sleeping. For that one, I have zero hope that the bid will hold up, but oh well. If I lose, I still have my King Cobra. If I win, I will have stolen it.

As others have mentioned, you can snipe while sleeping using a software solution.

I love entering a low price and waiting for it. It really only works if it is for an item where there is a lot of auctions for the same item, say an ipod. Enter a low price and wait, and if you have patience, you will win one eventually in my experience. There is always that one auction that goes relatively unnoticed. Now golf clubs is a different matter since sets are likely different between acutions.
