If you switch from a Game Improvement Iron to a smaller head with a smaller sweet spot, you will hit the ball further. The issue of loft does not mean you lose distance. If you hit a GI 45* PW and a smaller head forged 45* PW, you will hit the second further if you hit it properly.
If you are getting Mizuno's to get that sweet feel, do your self a favor and get an MP set. In my opinion, there is no feel with a game improvement iron, regardless of the manufacturer. In the long run, a few hundred extra bucks now will mean nothing when your scores drop.
