To improve the grip of the club. The glove is more tacky and will stick better to the club. At the same time it's not as tacky as a baseball glove since you also want feel. Especially when it's hot and you are sweating, a good glove is prefered. That said, it's all up to you, you don't have to use one. Freddy Couples is one example of a pro not using glove.

A glove will also protect the hands.

I don't use one either tho I started with one. When I did use one, I'd always forget to take it off for putting so I just quit using it all together. Just never had a blister or callous problem (assuming that's what its for).

Ive tried using a glove, just doesnt feel right, I have a brand new callaway glove I got for christmas and tried using it for a few shots at the range last time but it just felt weird. Feels like there's a foreign object on the club. Thats just me.

I used to not like wearing a glove, but I totally changed my mind as summer came. With the humidity and all the sweat on my hands, I was hitting beautiful bananas like no other time before; I just couldn't get a hold of the club, it almost slipped from my hands every single shot, resulting in hooks, slices, too weak shots, etc..

Birdies: 18

At first I felt the same way. I felt the glove was pointless, but now I've realized I can't apply the correct grip pressure and keep the club properly in my hand while making a shot without a golve on. Once my hands start to sweat, if I'm not wearing a glove I can barely swing without it feeling like it wants to slip right out of my hands.

Well for me, my grips seem to cut into my hands a lot and are pretty rough, so the glove keeps my hand from getting blisters. Without a glove, it would probably be difficult to play 18 for me.

if you want to try a glove but cant get acclimated to them, try a nike. They are by far the softest and thineset, and feel the best.

Yeah, as stated here mainly for grip. Especially nice on hot days. Also, they're really nice on the range when you're hitting a lot of shots 1 after another.

I have big hands (wear an xxl glove) and it helps with the overall grip. I have larger grips but the glove sort of makes it feel like my hand is smaller, which helps with grip feel.
