Don't get caught up in the club heads. All the heads from any manufacture are great now a days. It comes down to the proper shaft for your swing. Try to get fitted or go demo a bunch of woods and pay attention to the shaft!!

How 'bout a 4W (17*) and 3H (around 20*) instead? A 4W is easier to hit off fairways than a 3 without giving up much distance. Adding it would allow you to add a hybrid to your bag to either replace your 3I or complete your bag. Typically a 3H will be longer than a 3I by 1/2 to 1 full club so that could provide a good gap between the 4W and your current 3I. A hybrid is much easier to hit consistently than a 3I and with a higher ballflight. Because of the shorter shaft it's also easier to control than a wood.

I would say to get a stiff shaft on the woods too. I had a Burner 10.5 regular, and sliced and ballooned it a lot more than I would hit it straight. I didn't think anything of it until I got the 3 and 5 wood in stiff, and after that, I sold my regular 10.5, and went out and bought a stiff 9.5. Now, what was a slice is now a very slight power fade most of the time. I just love the control and accuracy that stiff shafts give you.

did you use 906's before you picked up your 909's? If so, what did you think about them?

No but I hit them and thought they were great clubs. I just chose the 909s because they felt better. But the 906s are very good fairway woods and would be in my bag if the 909s hadn't come out.

Ok, decided on 906F2 3 wood so far. Went to roger dunn today and hit over half a dozen different 3 woods at 17-18.5* loft and the 906F2 had the best results. Hit 8 or 9 balls and all were dead center with a nice mid level ball flight and slight fade.
