Well Ive been practicing alot and playing a full round or two every other weekend. I took lessons awhile back so I think my swing is pretty decent enough try something less forgiving with a much thinner top line...Im really interested in the Mizuno MP-52 just wondering with me being around a 18 handicap now, would it be smarter to get a mixed set with the mx-200's for long irons or just learn how to strike the ball better with the full set of 52's.

I'd say go with the 52's.. my humble opinion but it will make your striking skill go easier

If your iron play is that good than get them. They certainly aren't the easiest irons to hit and you will go through a learning curve with them. If it was me I would go for the mx23s or 25s. I had a set of 23s up until 2 years ago that I loved and they have a thin top line plus you can work the ball with them. The last question is do you think if you buy them that your iron play will get better? If it does than you made the right decision.

Really I just feel like ill be more confident at address with seeing a thinner top line,I know im going to have to get used to them and they might set me back for alittle while but I can handle that if it makes me a better ball striker in the long run...

I think you'll be just fine! I found that from switching from TM Rac CGB irons (Super game improvement irons) to r7 TP irons, I didn't really find myself being penalized too much on my mishits. I don't think that making the switch from GI irons to players irons is as big of a deal as so many people make it.

I love my new Ping i10s, but i got more consistant good contact with my old game improvers.
I suggest if you have your eyes set on the MP52s (pretty club), then you should get 7/8 - PW MP52 and 3 - 6/7 of the MX200s.

I'd go with the MP52's. I made the switch to my 690.CB's (players cavity backs) from my GI callaway x-14's and even though it wasn't an easy transition to make I've never regretted it. If you genuinely want to improve i think the mp52's (or something similar) are your best bet. It's my opinion that GI and SGI irons give people a false sense of comfort in their swing/skill level because they are so forgiving.
