I've never come back from the range with this big a smile on my face! In fact, I wish I could go back now!

I've been using Hireko Acer XK Pros for a while now (I am pretty sure they are Callaway X-2x clones) and honestly liked them just fine. They are considered GIs, but I always thought a tad more GI features wouldn't hurt so bad.

Anyways, browsing 3balls, I see used MX-100s (grade: very good) up for sale for a very insanely good price. Something told me to just go ahead and buy them, even though I've never hit a post 1989 Mizuno in my life at this point. I figured the worst that could happen (if 3balls used grading process happened to be lousy) was that I had a backup set of clubs for visiting friends and relatives and I'd be out a few hundred bucks.

Well...anyways, to my great surprise, the clubs were pretty much brand new. Only the 8i had 3 3mm long scuff marks on the toe, and signs of minimal use with the 9i and pw. The rest of the clubs were spotless. 3balls grading process actually exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds.

Re: Range report. These clubs are just plain FUN to hit. I know why too, they are ridiculously easy to get up and long, and they feel nice and crisp. Heck, there was even a little 'ball skin' circle forming on all sweet spot of all the clubs at the end of my bucket. It looked almost like I was a good player or something. I do however need to work with the Mx-100 hybrids a bit more...I was hitting nothing but draws and hooks at first, but when I held back, and smoothed things out, I could get pretty pure shots. That I think I should practice more, because when I hit one good, it was maybe 10-15 yrds longer than my old hybrid of corresponding loft.

Anyhow, sorry for the long post. I just had to share my good experience using a new vendor, and more importantly, letting everyone know that I finally know why Mizuno is such a big deal to some.

Nice post. I myself have been looking at Mizuno. Or I should say reading alot at this point. My interests are the mx950/mx100/mx200 so it is nice to see you like them.
Thanks Jack

Brother, welcome to the Brother hood of the Mizuno. Quick, on to the altar, the blood oath should not be further delayed. You hereby swear on your life and brand your oath with blood that you will remain loyal to Mizuno in this life and in the one after it. Amen. :P

Congratulations on the new irons man. I have just recently hit the MX-100s and I loved them, specially the hybrids, they're just amazing. I loved how they felt and how easy they were to hit from any lie. When buying my current irons I was putting the 100's into consideration, the only thing that put me off was the 4-GW format with the 4 and 5 being hybrids, while the 950's were 3-PW with the 3 and 4 being hybrids, so I went with the 950's. Later on I also knew that the 950's were forged and the 100's were cast, but this doesn't really matter both are very very good irons.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

I've purchased from 3balls several times as well and had a similar experience -the clubs were always in better condition than I expected. I think they do things right over there, I like shopping there a lot.
