Seems to me Tiger has a little more fire in him these days. I'm thinking Jacks win total has givin him some motivation, as if he needs any, to pass him this year. I don't recall how many he needs, but I think he'll do it myself. Any other thoughts on this? What are the #'s ?

i think he needs 3 to tie 4 to pass him iirc.

He'll definitelty pass him in wins.

I am not sure he will win four more majors.

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

I saying pass Jack in total wins this year. (Yes)

4 more majors for sure at some point.

I would say he will pass nicklaus next year in wins. And Snead in about 2 years. Majors are the hardest to predict but i would say he will pass nicklaus in atleast the next 5 years

They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. Golf is more complicated than that.

Yeah, I agree. It'll be at least another 8 or 10. He's got 10-12 years of prime golf left. His majors come in bunches. He'll get tight when he has 17. After he gets 18, the flood gates will open. I don't know if he wins this coming week - but he just threw up back-to-back 65s on the weekend. Tiger, at age 33, has completely obliterated Jack at age 33. There is no reason to think Tiger won't tool Jack's career from 34 to 46....and beyond. Don't you get the feeling Tiger will win a major in his 50s? I say he wins 125 tournaments (because he'll play even less once he gets to 18 majors)...though 140 or 150 isn't out of the question if he keeps a 18-20 tournament schedule. And I think he wins 28-30 majors. And the argument that Jack had to deal with all of these Hall of Fame golfers, is hollow. The number of Hall of Famers, and all-timers, that come out of Tiger's era will be just as good, and probably better.....it's just that those guys won't be retiring for 20 or 25 years.

I think he'll be shattering Snead and Nicklaus's records. He should be able to break the century mark in wins, and he will definitely get at least 5 more majors, barring any severe injury. People forget that he is just now reaching the common peak of a golfer's career, and has about 10 years of quality golf left at a minimum. At his current pace (63 wins in his last 10 years, 13 majors) this would leave him around 130 wins with 25 majors. Granted his performance isn't guaranteed to stay at this level, but with how he's bounced back from the knee injury I'm convinced that his performance for the future will be equal, if not better than, his past 10 years.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
