hi guys..wondering if you might take a look at my swing and see if there are any indications of pulling...i don't pull very often but every now and then i do..any help is greatly appreciated..thanks

great thanks for the tip! i think i might be standing too close to the ball, which in turn leads me to straighten my spine up at impact to avoid bottoming out..

You're also over rotating your upper body on the downswing. When I stop the vid at impact, your shoulders are well open to the target. They should be square to target line- ie the same alignment as they were at address.

What he said, causes over the top-ness

Try feeling your lower body swing the club with your arms and sholders just along for the ride

Yeah, you do look a little cramped at address.

The easiest way I think to get the correct distance from the ball is setup to the ball, drop your right hand off the grip and let it hang. If your right hand doesn't hang evenly with where you had it on the grip, your arms are not hanging straight down from your shoulders and you're either too far away or too close. If you're too close, your right arm will hang on the outside of the grip closest to the ball. If your too far away your right hand will hang on the inside of the grip closest to your thigh. Hope that made sense.

Good tip about placement deron ^^^^.

Maybe my backswing is really slow but yours looks really fast to me.

Not at all. Most people are too slow and have no tempo. Really it doesn't matter about the speed so long as it all works.

His backswing speed is fine.

A pull usually comes from your upper body out racing your lower body. If your shoulders turn past the ball before your hips you will pull the ball.

Gotta keep my upper body in check I guess since I also have a straight pull once in awhile.

Your spine angle rises partly because your right heel comes off the ground much too early. Keep that right heel down during impact.

    • Day 121: did a bit of mirror work with my driver. Working on shortening the backswing.
    • Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
