Do you have to use shaft epoxy or is there some other epoxy that you can get from a hardware store that will work just the same? I dont have a golf store very close to me.And another question is can the shafts be cut down for my son to use on the club end,planned to cut them off to were they step up in size looks like about 5 inches or so

Get yourself a good 20 minute epoxy from the hardware store. Don't get the 5 minute stuff!! It doesn't set up as strong. Also let the 20 minute set for at least 24 hours before use.

I wouldn't recommend cutting the shafts from the club end if you intend to use the same heads and shafts over again. The tip of the shaft may no longer fit into the hosel. It seems better to go for a re-gripping job rather than an epoxying job-- if you can find junior grips that fit the narrower shortened clubs it may be a benefit to smaller hands. If not you can build up the shaft with extra grip tape.

No golf store needed. Just as cussin hacker said, get a good brand epoxy from any hardware store. I use Loctite epoxy and it works perfectly good. I used to use Bison epoxy which was better as it was less irritating to the nose and had a transparent color so it didn't stain my hands while working, but I can't find these around me anymore. Loctite, or any other good epoxy will do.

As for cutting the shafts, it could work cutting them from the club head end, but I would suggest cutting them from the grip end. Take off the grips, cut them, and regrip them. You will need new grips though unless you can take the grips off without damaging them (which is something I don't know how to do but can be done). Cutting them from the club head end might affect their flex specially the bending point. I'm not 100% sure but take the safe side and cut them from the grip end.

Yes the grip end would be better to cut . How much are you wanting to cut down? Have you measured the ID of the hosel and the OD of the shaft? It will likely be .335, .350 or .370

The boy will be 13 this november and is average size and build,the clubs are full size(my old ones)not sure how much to cut off.How would I know how much to cut off

Get on a club fitting site and measure him the way it says. Sounds to me if $$ are not a big deal I'd get him a youth set to get started. I have some junior clubs I'd sell cheap if interested. Nothing fancy but it would be a start.

      Honestly, my three picks to win this were/are Brooks, Scottie and Rory.  Can still see Rory coming back if he plays like the first 9 where he had 2 birdies and 7 pars.  Not like his second 9 where he had 4 bogeys, one double and 4 pars.  Brooks on the other hand seems to be doing better.  Scottie sort of in between them

      It feels like Rory blew his load on the 18th at Augusta. Maybe everyone is underestimating how much that took out of him. Watching McGinley whaling in 'Roaddie' for not stopping by to talk to the press was bit of drag. The dude has given so many interviews and so much of himself over the years, he outghta be able to play with house money sometimes. Jeez, leave him the fak alone.

      Some positives playing in league tonight.  1st) Making the backswing a more lateral shift, and feeling the left leg and torso resist the turn at the top of the swing is helping out a lot. I got to feel an uncomfortable amount of pause in the backswing to set up the downswing.  2) I need to do a bit of more arm stuff better. Still too much draw or pull draws for my liking.  3) Short game is getting sharp. Many tap-ins tonight. I am trying to make the shortest backswing possible for the shot. It really forces me to stay aggressive with the pivot.

      Day 43 (12 Jun 25) - Return of the net in the backyard as I set it back up in anticipation of some work with the R10 in coming days.  Used it to hit a few iron shots into the net with the 7i before wrapping up the session with the wedges.
