I thought I was so smart because I thought of this, but apparently the Segway people did too.

I would love one of these, it would make the ride between holes part of the fun of golf. Anyone ever tried one?

I wonder if they're still $5000/per. If so it's no wonder that golf courses haven't replaced their two-person golf carts.

Wonder if they will ever build one with a cover to block sun, rain, etc?

I've never been on a segway, but I can think of a couple courses where I think they would make me nervous going up or downhill. One course has a 95 foot drop from tee to fairway and that cart path leading down to the fairway is very steep. Could get interesting if it's been raining slightly.

They could certainly add a dimension of fun and danger to most any round. I have ridden a few segways in the caribbean and they are definitely fun. But the terrain wasn't anything like some of the courses I play.

I could see a TON of problems occuring with one of these. First time someone went down a slick wet cart path may be the last.

Seems to me that they have all the disadvantages of walking with none of the advantages........

I've rode a segway but not a golf pkg one...it was so fun. It was a demo in a mall around here so it wasn't very far and it was inside but it was awesome.

Just thinking about taking one golfing makes me smile.

It looks pretty cool but in the end I would just rather walk to save money and burn calories. You can just call me old-fashioned.
