Yeah, this has me kicking around the idea of maybe picking up one of the old Pro Platinum Laguna mid-slants on Ebay and sending it down for similar treatment.

It looks better than new. I would rather have one like that than a brand new one.

Agreed 100%. What I love about it is that it's like having a brand new putter, but also having having the comfort knowing that beneath the new finish, it's still the same "old reliable" that's been working for me for over a decade. Best of both worlds.

I'm also pretty sure I'm not going to run across anybody that has one like this, which is pretty cool.

I agree....it's a shame that Scotty doesn't offer a darker finish like this. I love the anit-glare functionality. This putter turned out really well for him.

Gonna keep my eyes open on the used racks and ebay.

I love your iomic grip. I wanted those for my irons, but they are too expensive. My friends have it, and they are so niceeeeee!

Thanks. I agree, the feel is incredible. I had a blue imoic midsize on the putter before getting it refinished and loved it. the only thing is that tend to run a bit smaller than what I'm used to. Their midsize felt just like a regular old school smooth ping grip.

This white one is considered "oversized", but in reality it feels just like the mid-size grips I've been used to playing.
Wow, this is amazing!!

Not sure about Int'l orders. I'm guessing if you have a valid credit card, you should be able to. I suggest emailing them at

custsli@sli-bos.com and ask for Monica to be sure. You can also get a quote through here: http://www.blackoxideservice.com/golf.html

This is hilarious. I just won one of these on ebay. I was inspired by this thread and immediately began looking for an undervalued Pro Platnum Mid-Slant. I found a Leguna and watched it until there were seconds left and jumped on it.

I'll get a buddy to pull the shaft and send the head only to BOS based on your advice. Gonna try to get it to them in a month or so. I want to make a few more ebay flips to finance this venture. Cool when you can do this stuff and not come out of pocket.

wow i have the exact same putter, and it is in basically the exact same condition as yours was before you sent it in. I might have to get that done. Any idea what it cost to just re condition it to the same finish? I am going to have to call and get a quote to get mine done.

    • You’ve yet to propose anything else. And yet it was, and the rules tell you how to deal with it. Your question has been answered. The Committee can declare them GUR. I disagree with your assessment of common sense. 😀 And yet they didn’t really change this one. Looks like this is about wrapped up? “That Rule is So Unfair!” A Rules Geek’s Generalized Guide to Hot Takes and Overreactions | Rules Geeks I apologize for the length of this post. If I had more time I’d have written a shorter one. – Erik J...
    • When you are penalized for hitting into the sand trap the penalty is having to hit it out of the sand, not out of three inches of water. A sand trap is not the same as a water hazard. A sand trap is not supposed to be under water. It is a unique condition caused  by weather and poor drainage. Most local leagues like ours allow the free drop in this type of situation, as long as there is no area in the bunker to legally drop. This is what I’m talking about, sometimes the official rules of golf don’t align with common sense. That’s why they are finally starting to change them. For example, when wind blows your ball off the green. That was a stupid rule. People being able to call the tv network to say they saw a players ball move. That was a stupid rule. I’m just saying, these are rules made up a long time ago, and it’s time to modernize them.
    • Consider it another way: normally, it's a two-stroke penalty to move your ball out of a bunker (unplayable). The ACC reduces it to just one.
    • No, hitting into a hazard that is supposed to be avoided and is designed to be penalizing is not the same as hitting it into the middle of the fairway.   You are penalized because you hit it into a hazard. Based on your logic let's say you hit it into a red staked penalty area and you could normally play it but it's in temporary casual water from rain. Would you expect a free drop from there too??
    • They could have declared it GUR, sure. It is. It's temporary water, and as I said before, an abnormal course condition (ACC). That's what rule 16 is about — ACCs. No, a bunker ≠ the middle of the fairway. You are penalized because you hit it into a bunker. As for the rest… let's stick to the topic. Yep.
