Are blade putters hard to align?

I have always putted with mallets because I have been so intimidated by blade putters. I dont know if its a mental thing, or what.

Really, are blade putters hard to align?

its about your stroke thy shouldnt be different than any other putter if you have a good stroke

They are if the grip is crooked and or the blade is open or closed. That's the case with a Sportsman Original I have in the basement. It's a beautiful putter, but the face looks closed to me. When if I grip it so the blade appears square to the target, the grip feels wrong in my hands. My Wilson Staff blade on the other handis to the casual observer, a worn out POS, but I putt better with that one than my Ray Cook mallet - it's a personal thing.

I had a ping mallet and went to a ping blade this year. I have not noticed any difference in alligning my shots. In fact I kind of like the blade better. But keeping the allignment through the swing can be a little trickier. To that end I got one of those big thick putter grips which helped greatly.

Buying one maybe soon probably not to game as i don't have the stroke for them I don't think. I love how they look at address, and i will get a used one, and try to sand out the dinks and dents and refinish it, see what i can come up with.
Back to thread - my friend - 4 handicap, uses a blade, just started usin it, and he hasn't said it's hard though he does have a perfect technique.
They mostly don't have any alignment aid to keep the pure look, so in that aspect, they could be harder maybe than the super easy Odyssey 2-Ball F7 for example. To be fair, it's mostly the technique and concentration that would affect the alignment because at the end of the day, there's a straight edge you can use for alignment.
When i get mine, i will come back to this thread and tell you any differences between my anser style nike, and whatever blade i get.

I grew up with a Ping Anser, then about 5 years ago went to a mallet; first was a Ping Craz-e and then a Odyssey 2 Ball SRT. I made the switch because of the putter weight and for alignment purposes.

This year for my 40th, but wife bought me a Scotty; this was after I had done some practicing with it on the green and liked it. Surprisingly I found that I am able to aim my Scotty easier than I could my mallet putters. The simple alignment line on the Scotty works better for me, and I also feel that a can square up my body to the putt easier with it too.

I don't have a really hard time knocking it close with a blade, but I for sure sink more putts with a mallet. I'm getting a Spider Balero hopefully Monday (the day after my birthday party), so I'm excited as heck about that. Can't wait to get that thing. Tried it at golf galaxy and I was sinking 2 to 3 out of every 5 from about 12 feet. I can maybe get 1 every now and then with my current putter. I tried at least a third of the putters in the store, and none of the similar shaped ones even came close in terms of feel. The only one close was that oddessey 2 ball with the points on the sides. Not sure what number it is. But, it's not as good and 10 bucks more. I'll probably get a lob wedge as well.

There are very few real blade putters out there any more.I mean the Titliest bulls eye or Wilson 8802 or Yonex Super ADX forged.These were real blades what they call blades now are like cavity back putters not blades.

I have a question, and if someone could give me an answer I would really appreciate it. I tried the Balero and absolutely loved it. I always putt with a straight back and straight through stroke, but I've recently discovered that I'm just as good with an arc stroke. I was just wondering, since the Balero is a large mallet, would it be difficult to execute an arc stroke or would it be versatile enough for me to experiment with. I've never been able to sink many medium length putts with blade style putters, so that's why I want the Spider. Let me know what you guys think.
