YUP. now that we put all put in all possible causes, how to fix.

If he is as stubborn as Saint says, try to give a small and easy adjustment. Check his grip. Try weakening his grip (counter clock wise around the shaft). If his grip is strong, go neutral. If neutral, go weak to open up club face. It's not a swing fix, but a end result tweak to help him get consistent, if he always has that swing. That is the thing with Golf. Be consistent and use small adjustments to get that consistency to where you want the ball to go.

It's kind of funny, because it really doesn't look like he has an inside to out, it might be slightly i guess.

you're probably doing what i do which is come over the top (which tends to happen to a lot of us amateurs when we swing harder). try to feel swinging the club with your left hand. Many people swing with their arms trying to hit the ball with their right hand as opposed to turning through the ball on axis

For me the fix is tempo. When it's consecutive pulls, the first thing I try is to really focus on tempo. 1...2, 1...2, 1...2. I'll count it in my head 2 or 3 times as I stand over the ball before the swing. For me it's a product of my hands and hips getting out of sync or my shoulder turn getting sloppy. But it's almost always a pull.

Just dealt with this today actually. Kudos to my dad for diagnosing it over the phone because he knows my swing better than I do.

    • God I hate when golf can’t give me n+1 day of success. Drives me up the wall when my body is, FU! Im like, ok let’s check the vid. Yep too much turn, arms getting behind me. Ok, I work on that. Get the feel back for a shorter swing. Confirm with video. Then going back to arms down stuff.  Arms down, nope it’s hands out towards the ball. Oh, you get arms down better. Guess what, you don’t get to rotate and you hit 6 inches behind the ball. Yay!  Maybe I should have walked off the range and not wasted my time. I wish there was a body alert system when it’s going to a SOB for the day. 😭 OK rant over, I’ll be back at this tomorrow.

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.

Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
