Here is the problem.

I went on the golf course today and had a pretty decent round on what I consider to be a difficult course- Trilogy of Vistancia-shot an 81.

I know I could have saved a few strokes if it wasnt for my driver.

I started off hitting my driver well enough, everything was going straight with maybe a little fade...if at all.

I started struggling on the back nine with the driver. leaving my shots out to the right, not really a slice but just starting off right and going further right.

I put away the driver, brought out the 3-wood and started hitting snap hooks. This was even present in my hybrid. This is the same with my mid to long irons. A nice draw or perfectly straight when I hold onto it.

Went back to the driver....and yep, the same thing-blocking it out to the right.

My nickent 3-wood and hybrid have the UST-SR3 and SR2.5 shafts while my driver has an Aldila NV shaft.

I think the kick point is too high on the driver resulting in pushes and blocks as I am trying to create a draw.

I know it is hard to diagnose a problem without seeing my swing but any ideas?

I really like the trajectory I get with the 3-wood and hybrid. Not too fond of the trajectory with the driver, seems to just be a rope each time and runs a lot when it hits.

My driver distance when I hit it pure is about 250. My swing speed with the driver is between 100-105 consistently

Well if you were hitting it nicely at first and then started hitting it poorly in the same round, you probably made the slightest adjustment that in turn, created a very signifigant change. I'd use stiff shafts for everything with that swing speed.

Here is the problem.

The NV is a low trajectory shaft, If you like it a little higher prob go with Mid or mid/hi launch shaft. I had the same problem with my driver after a few holes I was blocking to the right. What I think I found was:

I got looser as the round went on and my swing speed increases (SS 108-116). I started blocking to the rt because the driver was breaking down and the face was opening up before contact with the ball. I bought a lower torque shaft and that solved the problem. Here are some shafts that might work for you if you consider res-hafting: Aldila NVS or DVS UST Proforce V2 Graphite Design Aura Red or Pershing ProLaunch Platinum Diamana (Blueboard) All are mid to mid/high launch with many different stiffness, torques, and weights.

Thanks for the input and suggestions. I could also see that if I start getting tired later on in the round getting lazy with the driver.

Off topic:

How do you get the brand names to show up like that in your signature?

That's weird, my dad has a Cleveland HiBore XLS regular 10.5 degree with an NV shaft, and it has a very low launch angle for some reason. Maybe the NV is just weird like that, lol. I have to tee it up about another 1/4 inch higher than I do with my 9.5 stiff Burner to achieve the same launch angle.

Go to the User CP button and look at the Edit Signature tab, then the "more" feature to add the manufacturer names to your sig.

On your driver issue, I have a similar problem. I've been cranking my driver 250-ish but all my tee balls are liners over second base, with a little fade. I like my driver, and don't really want to swap out the shaft, so I'm going to experiment and stick a regular Aldila DVS in an older driver and see if it solves the problem.

It's annoying to be able to draw it with every club except the driver, that's for sure. Also sucks to nail a drive 10 feet off the ground and then watch it die at 220 yards because the fairways are soft and wet. [I played a course last week that had hard, fast fairways and I swear I got an extra 40-50 yards roll out.]

That's really hard to believe. Have you ever been on a launch monitor? At that swing speed you should be getting it out a bit further than that IMO.

If you are swinging that fast and only going 250, your ball speed is slacking because you are hitting it off-center. Slowing things down might help with both the distance and direction.
