Depends what the 'best' is to you and what you are looking for. Frequent flyer miles? Lots of them or more flexibility? With which airlines? Cashback? Some reward scheme?

Typically the Capital One reward miles (and the like) give pretty poor earning rates but give you more flexibility on the awards. Personally the number of miles earned is more important to me.

My wife and I use Chase. 3% on the top 3 purchase catagories for the month and 1% on everything else. We use our credit card for every purchase possible and usually rack up about $800 a year in rewards, which means a nice long weekend once or twice a year.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Forgot to mention that if you even contemplate holding a balance, even a small one, on a credit card do not consider doing so on these reward cards. The APRs are usually sky high compared to others.

Personally I never hold a balance on credit cards but I know a lot of people do.

I got my Scotty Red X & Momentus weighted driver with American Express reward points. And there is no balance so I didn't pay for it with interest. Pretty much done with club purchases so I use the points to pay down the monthly bill now.
