You can, but the chances are someone in the group will have a ball in play. If all four of you hit OB, then you do it again with a stroke penalty so you will be hitting 3 off the tee.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Man....that is an ugly thought.....I'm sure it's occured, though.

In a four man scramble, does an OB tee shot get a provisional ball?

Why would you bother unless everyone on the team hits OB?

Yuck. Hard to imagine all tee shots going OB - I would recommend the last guy hit with anything that could go straight. You could use a putter and get more progress!
