How do you not like a guy who is either always smiling or has his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth like a kid shooting marbles! I think he rocks; but I do wish he would blink occasionally.

*snip* or has his tongue sticking out of the corner of his mouth like a kid shooting marbles! I think he rocks; but I do wish he would blink occasionally.

I tend to do that at times as well. hmmm, wonder if there's an Irish gene (recessive) involved.

I blink normally so I think I missed that polymorphism.

i drove paddy and his wife to the airport at the close of the Northern Trust Open, and what an amazing person to talk to. thank god for traffic in los angeles and around lax. the only other player i was able to talk to on a personal level (and met his family) was mark wilson. although i was able to be in the car when Haas fired his caddy... haha

Just heard something really cool about Paddy that I wasnt aware of. After his excellent year last year, his contract with Wilson was up. As you can imagine, he had tons of very lucrative offers by other OEMs. He ended up staying loyal to what got him there, and accepted a new contract with Wilson, worth a lot less money. I think that says a lot about the kind of person he is, and shows he's a good guy, as I cant imagine how much some of those contracts that he turned down were worth.

Yeh thtas true, he hasn't changed his irons since he first won the British, was speaking with a guy from Wilson the other week and he says its a nightmare to try and market the new clubs when he doesn't even use them lol!

Does anyone know why he doesn't get along with Sergio Garcia? He said something about how the only thing he has in common with him is golf, which in my mind is code that he really doesn't like the guy.

There's some discussion about the two of them here:

    • You're right. I haven't really had an issue with this before, but it's definitely worth closing the legs a bit to see what happens. I've had 2 of these and never had this problem before. About 5 years of use between the 2. It's really odd. Yeah, I've always had a bit of inconsistency and misreads, but this is a new level. I did a baseline session last night, and all my of stack speeds had decreased by roughly 5-10 mph (with me throwing out the obvious garbage readings). Weirdly, the driver speed actually seemed to be right where I expected it. I guess maybe it's having trouble with the smaller head of the stack vs. a driver? Whatever it is, I think it's time for me to go with the stack radar.
    • @DeadManI used to use the Swing Speed radar and, in hindsight, it seems very unreliable.  As @iacassaid, it's prone to misplacement, and I'd sometimes get wildly different speeds from swing-to-swing: like a 103mph, followed by 118mph, then a 102mph, then a 114mph.  I didn't know any better at the time and thought that was normal.  I've since upgraded radars and the new speeds seem much more accurate/consistent. Also, Mike Carroll (FFG) used to have the SSR and he now calls it a 'random number generator'.
    • I have it. Works good. As all things electronics, there are analog elements that can 'weaken' like the microwave signal emitting/receiving or the contact between it and conversion module, etc. Might be time for a new one.     P.S. I've had it for a few years. Other than replacing the battery haven't had any periods of wild reads.
