I realize that there is really no replacement for going to the range and hitting a real ball. I would still like to know if any of these limited distance practice balls really mimic what a real ball would do.

I can't say how they fly off the driver or long irons but I do like the Almost Golf yellow practice ball for chipping down the hallway during cold, rain, winter , nasty things like that. I think it helps keep the short game feel when everything is covered in snow until I can get to Florida and start my season over.

Another vote for the Almost Golf balls. They fly pretty nicely. They go about 1/3 the normal distance.

I'm buying some of those. I've got fields to hit the balls on, but the real balls fly so far.

I'm going to have to pick some of those up. I have about 120yds that I can hit across my lawn... if those fly 1/3 distance I should be able to hit every club in my bag at home.

Perhaps I caught a bad batch, but mine fly closer to 3/4 distance. I have about 150 yards to work with and I'm afraid to use anything more than an 8i.

DON'T GET THESE BALLS...They are fun to play around with friends and give you an accurate ball flight, BUT they will NOT improve your ball striking abilities. They definitely are a little smaller than a real golf ball and it is really hard to tell when you hit them flush because they just fly so far out there anyway. You can hit the ball thin and it feels the same as if you hit it flush. They kind of messed up my ball striking because I wanted to sweep them instead of take a divot with a practice ball. Stick with short iron practice shots and short game with real balls.
