Hi all, I really do not have much practice time.I chip at home on the lawn, putt on the carpet.Other than that I can get to the range twice a month and maybe a round of golf once a month.

To make the most of my limited time what clubs would you advise I practice most?

Up until this summer, I golfed on a limited schedule like yours. What I generally did was spent the majority of my range time working on the weakest facet of my game from the previous round -- which was generally mid-to-long iron play.

But I really started to see lower numbers this summer when I spent a good deal of time working on my short game.

Given such limited time, I would try to find a club in your bag that you can hit off the tee consistently, so when you do play golf you can keep the ball in play. This will give you a chance to score well and also add to the enjoyment of the round. Whether it be driver, 3 wood, hybrid, whatever.

I believe in using whatever club for each situation but I have got into a habit of just hitting a 20" hybrid from the tee on all par 4's and 5's.This has helped enormously with keeping it in play.

Which iron should I practice which would benefit my whole iron game when in the fairway?A 6,7 perhaps?

i'd focus on hitting fairways and short game. if you do that you should see your scores drop even with limited practice time. good luck.

Tough question to answer, especially to just pick one club. But maybe practice with an 8 - again if time is really limited and you can only pick one club. Because if you can hit an 8, you can hit a 7, and you can also hit a 9 and a PW.

6, 5, 4 irons etc are a whole other ballgame in my opinion. For some reason the difference between a 7 and 6 feels quite large to me. Probably just a mental thing, but once I have the 6 in my hand I'm in the "mid-iron" category and it just seems harder to hit consistently.

1) Putting
2) chipping

your putts per round should be under 30 for 18 holes with the help of your putter.

The chipping around the green will help you with one putts and getting up and down.

Putting and chipping really helped me out this week.Fell off my ladder for work a few weeks ago,did my ankle. So I hadn't played for 6 weeks at all,no full swing practice of any sort, other than the short game work at home.
For the first time this year my tee off shots were a bit of a lottery.Pretty much the same from the fairway, but spent a lot of time getting out of lies in the rough, and escaping from lies under trees.
Hit a 44 on a par 33 course,my best there.Pitching, chipping, and putting all felt really good,so it's mid irons and hybrids that get the least practice time for me.I was thinking of getting a driving net simply for the act of hitting longer clubs into something.
