i have a FT9/Blueboard, and i like it, the sound isnt half as bad as i thought it would be, alot more mute than the FT5, and hits the ball flat out a long way.. the 909 will be a toch less forgiving, but i think both are very workable..
i would look more into shafts than the head..

P.S. i have the tour model FT9, so that may vary things a bit.

i would go with the titleist cuz i demo'd a titleist and i liked it and i absolutly hate my ft-9 tour, iv lost about 30 yards. im honestly thinking about buying an r9 with weight kit jsut because i dont like my ft-9. its like hitting a wiffleball theres no mass behind the ball

30 yards? i cant imagine a 1.8 losing that much with a driver, thats crazy lol. i wouldnt go to the R9 then, supposedly they are like 7 some yards shorter on average than "normal" drivers..

You demoed the Titleist and liked it, but you're thinking about switching to an R9? Why not a 909?

I like both of these drivers! I almost bought the FT-9 because it looks sweet, but I hit the SQ 20 yds farther on the golf sim so I went with that. And my roommate has the 909 D, not D3 (not sure what the difference is) but I borrowed it on a few holes before I had the SQ and it felt nice, ball seemed to jump off it and gave rewarding feedback.

I went to a Titleist 909 and never looked back. I gained 17 yards on average over my Mizuno. The feel, sound, and performance sold me on Titleist. I haven't hit the FT-9 though

i have the r9 fairway wood that i hit about 270 off the tee about 245-250 off the deck and i love it. the reason i wouldnt go with the 909 is because i really dont know much about titleist drivers or where to get fitted for one, i also felt the 909 was a little bit to fat of a head and a little to light. i like heavy compact drivers with big faces like the r9. i would put like 8, 14, 8 for the weights in it and get an extra stiff shaft.

sorry to hi jack your thread and yes 30 yards no exageration at all. mainly because i had a heavy driver that i swung at 121 mph. D=MV therefore if you put more mass behind the ball at a semi high swing it will go farther than a light club swung fast.
