I was wondering if there is an iron set that has the weight, feel, etc of the Vokey wedges. When I pull out my Vokey 58*, I have the utmost confidence in it and love the weight and feel. I feel like I am in control of the club. I know it's a wedge and is easier to hit than mid to long irons, but I think it's the feel (maybe it's just in my head). I would love it if I could have an iron set that feels the same way. Brand is not an issue so long as the weight and feel is the same.

I am currently gaming a set of Callaway X-22 Tour irons.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

IDK if there is an iron set like the vokeys. I know what you mean about loving the wedges though... there is soo much confidence when you set up to them. In fact i just got a new set of vokeys cant wait to hit the course tomorrow

It sure would be a smokin' nice set of irons if there was one. Just feels so damn good...

Enjoy your Vokey set. They're sweet wedges and I can't imagine using anything else.

I could imagine what a vokey set would cost 3-LW.... Like 3000 dollars probably!

Anyways, if your looking for feel, mizuno all the way man! I cant describe it but go to golfsmith and hit any mizuno 6 iron and you will know exactly what I mean the moment you hit it pure.

As far as weight, wedges play a lot heavier than other irons so having an iron set with swingweights like d3 and d4 is what you want, but Im not so sure that is practical.....

I knew their swingweight was more, but the overall weight feel light, at least to me. I think it was in this forum where I read that it's better for the swingweight to be the same for all of your clubs for consistency. If that's the case, why would/should the wedge be a different swingweight than the others?

I've hit some Mizuno irons at Golfsmith and am slowly coming around to them. The first few times I tried them out, I wasn't really fond of them. I am considering getting a set of MP-32 or MP-67 irons. I really like the look and the feel is amazing (of course when hit properly). I hear the MP-32 irons are a bit more forgiving, if I remember correctly.

11 x 120 = 1340

Check out any set of non-muscleback blades from the 40s through 60 - I suspect they'd feel like that.

Right but do you really think they wont charge a sick premium to have a whole set of vokey's? I bet it would cost well over 1340 man...

Why would they cost more than the new Titleist MBs? Those are probably the most beautiful irons I've seen in a decade.

the the titleist 695 blades or the titleist zb or mb or the titleist 710 mb. basically all you feel that you get in the vokey wedges is a light wedge with a light sole to promote low ball flight wit the spin mill so you still get some height. i love all 3 of my vokeys but all your feeling is the lightness. they give low flight with lots of spin.

I recommend you try some very high end forged blades such as those offered by Miura, as seen here:

http://miuragolf.com/shop_blade2007.asp

You could also look for a set of MacGregor PMB Tour which were forged by Miura. I have yet to find a decent used set of those. See also the forged Titleist 681 T blades that Tiger used to game. They were forged by Hoffman. In addition, pretty much any Mizuno blade is money.

Of course, all of these clubs are for seriously good ball strikers.

So those irons feel fairly close to a Vokey wedge? I tried out the AP1 and AP2 irons and didn't like they very much. I just didn't bother with any other set of Titleist irons. Maybe I'll go to GS and give this a shot. I do think the ZB irons are very nice looking clubs.

I've heard that the Miura clubheads generally run on the small side. I would be more inclined to go with a Mizuno MP-32 rather than the Miura.

As far as the ball striking, I feel that it's the best part of my game. My putting is what causes me to suffer the most and the occasional mishits with my driver. I used to consider myself a master 2 putt guy, but lately, the 3 putts are creeping into my game in which I have 4-5 3 putts a game. Anyone gamed the TM TP MB irons? How are those compared to the Vokey wedges?

i like the looks of the 6-P but i dont like the looks of my 3-5. you could try the titleist ZM, titleist 710 MB, TM rac MB, adams idea pro black MB, cleveland cgTour, titleist 695 MB, callaway X Prototype, Nike VR TW blades, Mizuno mp68 or mp67 or mp33.

the ap1 and ap2 feel nothing like vokeys because they still have a pretty big sole with lots of perimiter weight. if you want something that feel like a wedge get blades with a stiffer shaft. basically if you want something to feel like a wedge you want a muscle cut blade design. the TM rac MB are actually the same head at the TM TP rac wedges, same with the nike vr blades, and the x proto look alot like the callaway jaws wedges. but if you really like the feel of vokeys i would stick with titleist

Right now I'm playing a project x flight 6.0 shaft. Are you saying I should go more to a 6.5 or something? I generally hit my 7 iron around 170 with a slight delofting of the club. I have the butt of the shaft pointing to my inner left thigh (I'm a righty).

I'm also a digger too so the , so I think the thinner sole (less bounce) will help me get through the turf easier as I get caught at times. Sometimes I do get too deep though. I'll look at some of the Titleist MB irons in the meantime.

I can't get over finding this thread.....This is exactly what I have been going thru...I even own the same irons...x-22 Tours with Rifle 6.0 shafts....

I have the same feelings about my Vokey wedges....I went to the store I deal with, which is a local Driving range....I tried to explain how I wanted a iron that feels like my Vokey wedges...I currently have a 52 and 58 Vokey,2009 spin mill wedge.....Its hard to explain to the pro what I'm looking for as far as feel...They ask a lot of questions but it hard to explain that you just want a iron that just generally feels like the Vokey when you pick it up....

I tried everything....I ended up ordering the AP2's with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts....When I picked the iron up it had the feel I was looking for...When you hit it sweet,,,,it has a great feel... I bought the 5-9 irons....I also purchased a 48 Vokey and had it bent to 47 to match the AP2's....Can't wait to get them...Probably will be the end of the month since I ordered the 2010 model which are supposed to ship the end of this month.....

Good luck with your search....I know the feeling!!!!!!

That's funny. I have the 58* Vokey and a CG14 52*. Don't tell me you have the Nickent 3 ironwood too?

Did you try any blades?

What a ludicrous proposition.
I play Vokeys and really like them, but they are WEDGES guys. They are mass produced, cast clubs. You rarely mishit wedges so of course they feel good. There is no shortage of quality irons out there. You may as well say "Wow! Imagine if Mercedes made putters! How awesome would they be!!!!"

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

What a ludicrous proposition.

I haven't paid attention to this thread precisely because of this reason.

The logic fails at step 1.
