hopefully i'll complete my bag. a new driver (909 D something), a new three wood (Titleist 909F2 and a 2 hybrid (909H). If i'm really happy with my new irons i'll replace my ping i10 3-iron with a Titleist 710 AP2 3-iron to match my other irons. hopefully my grades will be good enough for the bank (parents) to give me permission.

I've been upgrading with new (to me) equipment since July. My last holdover is my putter which I plan on replacing mid-season next year or so. The front-runner right now is a Cameron Squareback. My main focus will be upgrading my ball striking and consistency.

I'm looking at replacing my AW (big sole + 11* bounce) with something less klunky. I have trouble hitting it cleanly, and distance on full shots varies from 80 to 110 yds. May get a Nike SV Tour 50.10 which has a thinner sole; thinner sole reduces the effective bounce. Seemed to hit well in test shots.

If the 50.10 works out, I would consider adding an SV Lob Wedge.

Also, I might get one of the three-wheel carts for bags, start walking more.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I've bought a lot of new (to me) clubs this fall, so I hope that my bag is pretty much set. I do have a bunch of hybrids and 5/7 woods to try out before deciding exactly what set to game. I'll play a few rounds and practice sessions with them and then try to sell what I don't want to keep for my backup bag.

That said, I'm always on the lookout for another old putter, BeCu wedges or Japanese drivers. Would love to get a Honma putter or driver for Xmas!

I played Sonartec t46 East Coast GW and SW along with an Alpha PF2 LW this year and altho I love the Sonartecs and am not getting rid of them, I'm gonna start next year with all Alpha PF2's that I'm building this winter. Gonna shaft them with Apollo Stepless shafts trimmed to X. At least the GW and SW, the LW has a KB Tour wedge shaft in it now, but I may change it to as I bought the shaft to do it. Here is a pic of the PF2 (Pro Forged 2) for those who are not familiar.

I try to make equipment adjustments at the end of the season rather than the start. That said, I made a lot of changes during the 2009 season. In fact, I swapped out most of my bag which is HIGHLY unusual for me. For the most part, I'm very happy with my current bag and don't anticipate making many changes (if any) next year.

As always, I'll go through my (somewhat) annual ball selection process . I'm particularly interested in testing the new Callaway Tour i(s). I'm very happy with the B330-S but I wouldn't be surprised if I switched to something else for next year. In addition to the Tour i(s), I'll likely test a Srixon this time around as well.

I'm also interested in trying out some new drivers. Since making the switch to a 460cc driver (back when I got my FT-5), I've been lusting for a newer technology driver with a smaller, more workable, clubhead. The new Callaway FT looks very appealing and rumor has it that Titleist might have something in the works for 2010 as well. On this point, I guess I'll wait to see what's available next spring and go from there.

Pretty happy with my bag as I've built it up over the past year or so from nothing. The only thing I want to add is a new hybrid to fill a gap in my set either a 17 or a 21 degree.

Can't call it an equipment upgrade, but the #1 golf purchase for 2010 for me will be membership to a club in the area. I already know the venue, I'm just debating whether or not I wanna push the finances and join before January and save $200 on the membership.

The 56.12 and 60.06 wedges are shot. Thats the reason that the Vokey 52.08was purchased late this year. A Vokey 58 is first real equipment addition next spring so I'll play a 52/58 set.

After that, I'd really like to add a 5 wood if I can find one I hit well enough. I hit a Titleist something or other a few months back at Golf Galaxy and kind of liked it.

Those three are near certainties, if I have the $$$ there also may be new shafts on the irons and a Scotty Cameron Monterey in the bag before too long. Maybe.

The bag:

Driver: Taylormade R7 Limited (10.5*)
3-wood: Taylormade R7 st (15*)
5-wood: Titleist 909 F2(18.5*)Irons: Taylormade RAC TP MB; Project-X 6.0 (3-PW)Wedges: Vokey Spin-Milled 52.08 Vokey Spin-Milled 58.12Putter: Odyssey White Hot Tour #1 (33")Ball: Titleist ProV1

Hopefully some new irons. Leaning towards the Mizuno MP-58's. I'll also have to add a new gap wedge. I think that'll be it for this off season. I'd like to replace my hybrids at some point.

Planning to add a 56* wedge to the bag. Thinking about swapping out the 60* in favor of a 56*.

I have a 56* Callaway Forged, with a smaller than normal head. I use it out of sand, and it also works well for short and partial shots going into the green. It does "lob stuff" for me right now. But, a lob sometimes would be handy for courses with really plush rough.
