Walk up behind the ball standing about 3-4 steps behind it and look at the putt. I don't bend down because that just messes me up.

I'm not completely sure of which way its breaking until I step up behind my ball and feel where my feet are (Below my putter it's going left, above it's going right etc...)

Take three smooth practice strokes. #1 is for the right stroke. #2 is for the right line. #3 is for the distance.

Step up to the ball. Look at the hole. Look down. Hit and pray.

Stand behind the ball, read the green, estimate the distance, take a few practice swings, adjust for diversions ...then launch.

Swing Happy My Friends!

Read from behind bent down as Low as I can get

Line up my ball (I have a line on the ball) now all I have to worry about over the ball is the speed

Step up to the ball look at the hole and make two practice swings for speed

address the ball

take one more look at the hole

look back at the ball

and swing counting in my head (one thats my back swing and two is my follow through - this is to maintain tempo)

eh what ever works

1. Read line from behind of the ball.
2. Stand just before the ball and do practice swing twice just looking at the hole.
3. Step close to the ball and Stroke.

Similar to AK's putting routine. Only thing difference between him and I would be AVG. Putt per round.

Stand behind the ball to find the line. Will check from one side if I have time.

Take a position next to the ball, setting the putter down behind it and lining up the sight line with my target line.

Releasing my grip, supporting the putter with my fingers only, and take my stance being careful not to move the putter head. Once my stance is square to the target line/putter sight line, I then close my hands gently over the grip (I have a very overlapped grip with fingers from both hands going down the grip).

While taking a breath, I run my eyes down the target line, to the apex if it's a breaking put, and to the hole, then retrace the line back to a spot in front of the ball (1-2' in front), and roll the ball down the line.

On days when the stroke isn't working properly, I will look at the ball to better strike it properly, but then my speed/distance control suffers.

I am a Dave Stockton disciple. I make my read, step in and putt. Once I get my line, I don't take my eyes off it until I make my stroke. Putting is about hand-eye coordination, just like pool or bowling. You wouldn't take a practice swing next to the ball in those sports, would you.? If I ever take a practice swing, it's when I'm standing behind the ball.

1. Read the break from behind the ball
2. Two or three practice swings beside the ball
3. Step forward, hit the ball.
4. Repeat (2-3 times!)

I try to read my putt as I am marking my ball so the away person can putt.If he is near my line I will watch his putt if not just get my line in my minds eye. When it is my turn I am ready and just spot my ball and go.If I think I get in trouble.

-Step back behind my ball to read the line
-Examine the putt from the side to see if it's uphill or downhill
-Make the line on my ball aim to where I want it to go
-Keep the ball there and step back behind the ball to make sure I've got the right read
-Take one practice stroke next to the ball, while looking at the hole
-Step up, take a quick look at the hole, then stroke it
-Reach into cup

I think people should look more at the hole in their routines. You won't have as much feel if you hardly look at the hole.

    • Flying into ATL on Sept 11 (Thu), early, leaving Sept 15 (Mon), late. Dates are fixed. Trying to hit the best RTJ Trail stops without spending half the trip in the car.   Plan: Thu: Grand National (Lake or Links) Fri: GN AM, then drive to Capitol Hill, play Senator Sat: Capitol Hill – Judge Sun: Ross Bridge Mon: Oxmoor Ridge early, drive to ATL   Thinking about squeezing in Cambrian Ridge after Capitol Hill—worth it or too much? Would love any feedback or tips from those who’ve done it.
    • Day 73 (13 Jul 25) (note: forgot to post the "day" for the past few days, up to day 73) - Easy day in the backyard, with time on the 50deg wedge and the mat (simulating tight lies around the green) working on low spinners.  Love using this mat as it is small and portable but also lends to being a type of alignment rod to get a proper setup.  Finished up with a few swings with the 54.
    • Congrats on the new leg of your journey - the challenge of learning something new while dealing with Parkinson’s is totally awesome.
    • Played several holes today with my Buddy's left haded clubs.  I was going to order just woods, but after playing again today and hitting the irons well, I will be ordering a complet set of Left handed Clubs.    They are Callaway Edge, Regular flex.  I am excited !  Will let you know after I try them and let you know how well they performed.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • Depends in part on what lie the greens crew left me. If it's first cut of rough or fairway and clear shot to cup, it's an 8i chip and run. If it's shaggy, or I have to go over ridge or bunker, it's a cut shot with a 58* LW.
