What's good and moderately priced in the CW-SP area? I was down there last spring and the only one we played was CWCC which was OK, if you like 5900 yard courses. I'm going to be there for a whole month, and I want to get in at least 4 rounds a week, when I'm not working.

we were there the first of december. we (wife and i) played the tides golf club. short, but at least interesting. it gave slow greens a bad name.
also, we played the bardmore. very nice layout. we played there a couple of times.
toward bradenton there is the river club and the river strand. i recomend both.

We go every year and Play bardmoor and Eagles and lake Jovita and of course World Woods.

Try Mangrove Bay. If you're willing to cross the Sunshine Skyway, there's Buffalo Creek. Not as good as WW or Jovita, but hits the mark on moderately priced.

Steve

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Mangrove Bay is the St Petersburg course of note. I play there each week. It's nice and 6656 from the black tees. Watch out for Rattlesnakes in the OB areas, ie dont look for balls in the bushes when it's warm out. I also just love the Rocky Point GC in Tampa just north of SR 60 and west of Tampa Airport. it plays 6315 from the blue tees. Then there is Airco a wide open course next to St Pete Clearwater airport. It plays 6678 from the Black tees. I have heard about Buffalo Creek but have not visited it yet. These courses usually are not hard to get on as a walk on single. These are low priced decent courses that won't beat you up but still interesting. There are 124 courses within a short drive (est 60 miles) from Clearwater. Look up the directory on http://tampabay.golfersguide.com for more info and phone numbers.. enjoy yourself.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.
