Does anyone have an opinion on a brand of balls called Pinnacle? I have never used them, but someone who doesn't know much about golf gave them to me as a Christmas present. I think they are called Pinnacle Gold Soft.

Pinnacle is an older brand, it's part of Acushnet, the company that makes Titleist, Cobra, and FootJoy. They used to make clubs (I have a whole set of Pinnacles, persimmon 1, 3, 5 woods, and 3-PW) and other golf supplies. They have been more or less relegated to golf balls these days. They make the balls used in long drive competitions, and have a long drive team.

I was told to use the Bridgestone e7 in warm weather and the Srixon AD333 in cool weather. I found the Srixon TriSpeed for $12/dozen so I am going to try them out. It is supposedly a better/3 piece version of the 333.

Thanks, DefLord and Shanks,

I'll give the Pinnacles a shot, just 'cuz they were free.

I second the vote for the Srixon AD333's - semi- inexpensive and worked great for me last year.

The stuff in my bag (i.e. The clubs that I haven't tossed in the pond. Yet.):
