I feel as though my putter shaft is flexing too much, what swing speed constitutes a pretty stiff graphite shaft? I seem to be missing too many putt because my putter does not have a stiff enough shaft. Thanks in advance.

I was clocked at a 90mph swing speed, the greens are really long here.

I thought all putters apart from junior putters were steel shafts?

And honestly unless your missing them all to the left it prob isn't the putter that is the problem.

Haha! Unless the greens are 100 yards long, trust me, you're not swinging your putter at 90 miles per hour.

Seriously. Who has problems with putter shaft flex?

Can you get a video of your putter swing? If you're at 90mph and always left, chances are your shaft flex is just fine. My guess is that you're left knee is breaking down and your wrists are over rotating through impact. You can probably fix this by either swinging a lot harder, think 120-130mph (this will keep your wrists from breaking down to early), or strapping the Hammer to your left leg (this will keep your knee from breaking down). You might want to do both just to be safe. Remember, if it's not going straight, swing harder!

LOL.

But with greens this long, forget about strapping The Hammer to your leg; you'll need all the club you can get your hands on just to hit your first "putts" pin high. POWWW!

Sometimes I can't even make it to the hole, I was thinking about putting a 45'' shaft on it to give me more distance.

Anyone wanting to upgrade their putter shaft for real??

Take a look at the UST frequency filtered shaft. It is made to improve your feel and distance control. Just got mine put in buy love it so far. I have only got to putt a time or two due to weather. Practice green is frozen now:( Pretty awesome looking shaft too. Top half is carbon fiber and bottom half is steel. Very different feel to the putter when you use it. I also got an Iomic midsize grip (black) as well, so there are two variables here. At any rate, the feel of my Rife Antigua is vastly improved. I got the shaft for about $30 from Golfworks and got the Iomic grip from www.regripit.com (all they sell are Iomic grips). Had them put in my putter when I had some custom work done by Kevin Colbert of www.putterplating.com but any clubfitter can put the shaft in your putter of course. Very slick putter shaft.

Recommended for putter swing speeds under 90 mph:)

seriously man, there is no way that should be happening. especially for a 9 handicap. for starters your putter shouldn't have a graphite shaft, and 2) your not playing at st. andrews so just give a firm roll on the ball, don't swing at it.

I had a local PGA pro that wanted a "stiff and heavy" shaft in his Cameron that I was refinishing for him. This guy holds a course record!

I had to hold back from laughing. But - true temper does sell them, and if you are cutting down your putter below 32 inches - it might be worth looking at as you are really compromising the swing weight of the original design.

What's everyones thoughts on the UST putter shaft line? gimmick or good product?

But stiff and heavy is at least logical. A stiffer shaft has a different feel, and more feedback. A heavier shaft is easier to control in a putter. It's not like he asked you to make a 46" graphite shafted putter so he could hit his putter 300 yards.

whats that new material they are using in the hammer.......you need that in a shaft
