Hooking the ball with a weak grip... how is that even possible?

weak grip or strong grip is not important...the fundemental is that both palms need to be facing each other. If you have a strong left hand and a weak right hand they are basically in conflict and impossible to achieve a correct wrist hinge.

you hit the nail on the head. my right palm was more on top of my left hand than facing my left palm. i implemented it into my short game to drive down hard at the ball with my right hand to impart more spin on the ball. but with a shot over 70 yards, it puts ridiculous sidespin on the ball from my right hand prematurely overlapping my left. well, i now know what to do if i have a severe dogleg left.
