I think only you can answer that question, but there is another thread on here about a guy who did just that. I think he was quite pleased, but the work is quality and not inexpensive.

I had one of my scotty's sent in and refinished, new paint, put a new grip and lie adjusted. Its well worth it but its expensive. Highly recommend it!

This is the link from a couple weeks ago that I started after receiving my putter back from teh Custom Shop. I sent my Scotty Cameron TeI3 Newport (old model that was black with an orange/copper-colored insert) for a complete restoration as a Christmas gift from my wife. I originally purchased the putter new when I was a kid, and it had been sitting in my parent's garage for a long time; it was in pretty rough shapeafter all the years of being out in the heat and humidity and from all the wear and tear I put on it as a youngster. Needless to say, I think they did a great job restoring the putter. The link above outlines exactly what I had done. If you want to have a complete restoration done to your putter, it's definitely worth it. I personally wouldn't send on in for just paintfill and stamps seeing as they charge an arm and a leg for them, but it's really up to you whether you want it done or not.

It depends what your want done. If you just need a new grip or a lie adjustment, i wouldn't.

But if you want some new paintfill, a new headcover, and your initials stamped, no one does it better.

Thanks. By the way that putter looks amazing that you sent in. If i were to send mine in i was thinking bout doing the restortation, that way i could get a new shaft, shaft band, and grip. but im not sure if it would be worth the money because i did just get it last year. so its still up for grabs.

I got a squareback a few weeks ago and I shipped it out as soon as I got it. Initials, headcover, paintfill and sight dot. It's not like I can use it any time soon with all this snow, so I sent it to california for a little "spa treatment"

+1

I sent mine in right after I first got it. Didn't do too much, just got a new grip, shaft band, and got the initials stamped. But I'm really glad I did. That being said, I have and will play that putter exclusively because I do so well with it. If you're not sure how attached you are to the putter and money is an object, I'd hesitate to burn that much cashon some customizations 12 months after I got it. But if you're keeping it for awhile, definitely go for it, the work is top notch.

Can someone tell me how long it takes to get the Scotty back from the custom shop. I just want my name and a sight line on my Studio select.

Posted
It takes about 30 days to get it back (I've got 20 days to go before mine comes home). check out www.scottycameron.com . There are slideshows of other peoples custom work. I'm hoping mine makes putter of the day before they send it back.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
