My local Golf Galaxy had a demo day for Taylormade and got to try out both the new R9 SuperTri and the Burner Super-Fast. While the possiblities seem endless with the new technology in the R9, I must say I greatly favored the Burner. This club is super light while keeping that feel of stiffness in the shaft that I wanted. In fact, two of the other guys I went with went in thinking they would be walking out with the new R9 and ended up with the Burner. Both just loved the feel and were consistently 10-15 yards longer than with the R9. I asked if price also came into play, that being the Burner around $250 cheaper. Both agreed that if the prices were switched, the end purchase would have been the same. So if you are in the market for a new driver, definitely check out these 2 new ones from Taylormade.

Now all they have to is wait till all this snow melts to start using their new weapons

I was in a local GG today and not mention or signage about any TaylorMade demo days coming up.

I am on GG's e-mail list, and they sent me an e-mail saying that the TM demo day would be at all stores. I'd probably be more interested in trying the Raylors than the drivers.

I made it to the TM event at GG here in Appleton, WI today and it was very well attended. Tried the new Burner, but I was pretty stiff yet and did not hit it nearly as well as i do my older model Burner ('08). Gonna try to go again tomorrow to try and get another $25 gift card. (the 1st 25 at the door got $25 gift cards.)

I think they're doing TM and Calloway days at all stores. They also have some other demo days going on at select locations. I'm an Adams guy, and they said that Adams would have something going on at my local GG this Spring.

It sounded like it was all the stores, because the grand prize is an entire new set of Taylormade clubs and there is only one winner out of all the stores. I would love to win that complete set!

Tested the Burner 10.5* R-flex today. It has a 46" shaft, and only a D2 swingweight. I had heard the Burner was better suited for people (like me) with 90 MPH or below swing speed, and GG player's rep agreed.

(I just had hernia surgery in January, so I couldn't really bear down on the shots that much. New Burner did feel lighter than current driver)

A couple of people said they would come back another day and test hit the 2008 Burner; if no performance difference, get '08 model and save $100-plus.
