yeah, he's only won a couple of tournaments since he's been on tour. he's not one to close down on sunday and put pressure on the final two or three groups. he never takes big risks, but neither does he make many mistakes.

but this guy is constantly in the top 25 on the money list. he makes lots of cuts, and already has two top 10's this year, and probably a third after today.

if he's such a good golfer, which he undoubtedly is, why is he never picked to represent the us in international competition?

Here are a few reasons:

One career top-ten in major championships (T10, 2003 PGA)
Two career top-tens in WGC events (T9, 2004 Firestone; 3R, 2007 Match Play)
Career-high PGA Tour rank in driving accuracy: 56th (no seasons within top 100 since 2004)
Career-high PGA Tour rank in putting average: 92nd

I don't think he is underrated. He is solid and playing pretty well so far this season, but I can't say that he is underrated with his accomplishments so far on the Tour.

well, you never hear much about him like you do other guys who don't have half the consistency he does. he may never put himself in a position to win it all, but somehow he's always in the hunt.

He's certainly one of the better guys on tour, having never finished worse than 69th on the money list in his nine full seasons. So, he's never come close to having to face Q-School. For while there though, he was considered a very over-hyped player and just hasn't lived up to the expectations of becoming one of the game's consistent winners.

He's only 30 years old so he is entering his golf prime. He's started off 2010 as his usual consistent self, but honestly, he does most of his damage in events with softer fields. He's never finished inside the Top Ten in any major, but he's come close.

Some players on tour that I think are underrated right now are Alex Prugh, Kevin Stadler, Steve Marino, Ryan Moore, Chad Collins, Kevin Na, Matt Every, and John Rollins.

I don't think he's rated, period. Good golfer, but not a guy who's shown any ounce of winning consistency throughout his career.

He's a solid player but not under-rated IMO. I like his style and consistency but he just hasn't found a way to win often enough. Got wet on the 18th at Torrey in the lead one Sunday after pitching into the hole - unluckiest shot I've ever seen. He comes across as a gentleman - credit to the game.
