Is it "gay" if you do Yoga without your wife? I hope not (but not that there's anything wrong with that). Yoga is a beast of a workout. You could be the most cocky, ripped dude in the gym, but if you don't do advanced stretching routines then Yoga will make minced meat out of you.

And if it does make you gay, then consider me flaming. Yoga is the bomb.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I know this is an old thread, but I figured I'd resurrect it and see who's still at it.  Currently on day 5 and Yoga kicked my butt last night.  My wife asked to join me.  By the end of it she said, "Uhm, that's not beginner's yoga.  That guy is nuts!" LOL.

Happy to say soreness from day 1 is already fading and I actually felt pretty good stepping off the elliptical this morning.  Skipped two of my three range sessions this week so looking forward to walking 18 as my cardio tomorrow.

You're both right.  Flexibility is lost temporarily until the muscle heals.  Then when it heals, the muscle fiber's 'cast' system for repair is disolved and flexibility is regained.  If you work out all the time without letting yourself fully recover, you will not be as flexible.  If you workout and let yourself recover fully, you will be fine.

That's always been one of the critiques from yoga buffs about P90x. The yoga disc contains some moves that might take an average person more than a year to master, not something that someone new to yoga should attempt. The best advice is to not force your body to do more than it currently can. Go to your limit, no matter how puny it may feel. You will naturally progress further in time. Don't let the routine intimidate you into injury.

Just completed week 1 of Insanity.  Similar to P90X, but without the weights and props.  Feeling good and motivated to complete the full cycle.  Absolutely certain it will help my game.

Week 6 now.  Yoga has become one of my fav workouts of the week.  Plyo still kicks my butt every week, but hey, it's definitely working.  The first 3 weeks I did cardio in the morning 5 days a week on top of p90x in the afternoon.  For this second phase I toned back to 3-4 days of cardio with p90x in the afternoon.

Workout I hate the most?  Legs and back.  After a long week of plyo, cardio, etc, legs feel like mush by the end of the workout.  Then again, I'm seeing huge strength and stamina gains in my legs.

    • Day 48. Got out at lunch to the range to hit some driver shots. Haven’t had much practice there. Focused on setup suggested by @iacas and found some very playable results. I did try to hit a couple of bunker shots after that with much less success 🙃
    • Got a rare birdie on #18 Par 5.  Drive was good and left me in range of the green.  I was @ 210 from the center and needed @ 180 to clear a hazard area.  Green had bunkers lest, right and on back. had been struggling and most shots were short so I took the 225 club figuring back of green hit well. i did hit it well, @ 229 per SS and dead on—kind at the pin.  Ended up @ 1 foot off the back in short rough and lucky for me it was a back pin placement.  Chipped about 15 feet leaving a 3 feet putt for par which I sunk.
    • Yea, so to clarify for me. I do not feel the clubface much in the swing. I feel the weight of the club. I can feel if I hit the club off the heel or toe. When I try to feel if the clubface is open or closed in the swing, I feel it more with my hands, and less of the clubhead. I would classify majority of my swings as not feeling like the clubface does much of all. It feels like I hold the clubface open. In the finish, it doesn't feel like my left hand faces the ground. It feels more like it faces the sky. I will try to be more aware of this, but it was just the sensation I got when I was making what felt like good swings. For the most part, I was hitting slight draws or slight pushes.  On this golf trip, I had to hit a low 8 iron around a tree to the green. I made an alignment adjustment, and actively try to roll my hands a bit more to get it to sling around the corner. I do have a habit of not adjusting how the clubface comes through impact, and I can still hit the ball straight-ish even moving the ball way back in my stance and trying to swing out more.  Yea, my feels are more hands and arms, less actually feeling the clubface.
    • That truly had me laughing. Thanks If anyone is interested Sun Day Red is live. I clicked on the hats, seem they are sold out. Shorts 130 bucks, shirts 120, everything seems to be sold out already, at least from what I clicked on. 130 for shorts, I'll pass.
