Nice, I'll call in the next couple of days and book a tee-time. I don't think they accept tee-times until 5 days prior. Looking forward to it!

Interesting to sample a thread and I'm familiar with all the courses.

For one round in Miami I'd play Biltmore. It's such a classy calming atmosphere driving through Coral Gables with all the overhanging trees and Spanish architecture. Great majestic hotel which dominates the skyline. The track is a Donald Ross design from the late '20s or '30s. They played pro tournaments there decades ago, ending early '60s. It still hosts the Junior Orange Bowl.

Crandon Park is an excellent course that I've played often but it's not memorable, IMO. I like walkable tracks. Crandon often has absurd distances between green and the next tee.

Melreese is adjacent to the airport. I preferred it before the major renovation which basically removed trees, jacked up prices, and made everything greener but less interesting. That used to be the epitome of a local wise guys course with basic facilities and sharp old timers hanging out in the little snack area.

Miami Shores retains some of that. I like that course because I inevitably start fast. In high school matches I was inevitably under par after two or three. Someone mentioned the overhanging restaurant with the view.

I appreciate the old style Miami courses that have not insisted on lengthening holes. We're at sea level with bermuda rough and brutal afternoon winds. Too bad the executive courses are gone. I loved to sharpen my iron game and pretend plenty of chances for that elusive hole in one.

Hey man, Pembroke Lakes is hosting a tournament on Friday, so no play then. I'm going to play Jacaranda East in the morning, and Plantation Preserve in the afternoon. Let me know if you are still interested in joining for either one.

    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
    • Tentatively in for at least one of those days. My job situation is a bit up in the air at the moment so need to get that sorted out first then I'll know more for sure or not.
