He says my chest is leaving my arms behind causeing my club face to open which leads to my awful push/slice.. At 40% swing I hit strait. Somewhere between 40-70% I lose control and can't get back on plane, anyway; his wife calls 30 min into lesson and he had to leave. I'll try to make it back up there on a later date.

Did he give you any drills to work on? If it's a matter of keeping the arms and chest more connected, you could try hitting some shots with tees or gloves held under your armpits.

Was there some emergency at home that he had to leave early? I wouldn't go back to an instructor who made a habit of leaving lessons early without good reason.

The deal was his wife was going into labor... I'm really confused the instuctor says I need to use my "big muscles". He said my Y is breaking down... When I posted my swing on here the majority of the comments I got was that I need to speed my hips up ? It feels like "and I could be completely wrong" my core is to fast and I'm haveing trouble staying connected.. I mean I know my hips are fast be cause I'm a little guy 159lbs and can hit my driver 300 yards I know it ain't because I'm strong...? Right?

I guess "wife in labor" is a good enough excuse .

Good luck with the lessons and post an upgraded swing at some point to show what you're working on.

Keep working it at 40% and build from there. I tought for a little while (not to mention when I'm making repairs/changes to my own swing), and people tend to think they have the kink worked out way to soon. If you a 25 handicapper then you have a long way to go, be patient. If you arent doing the work yourself (which I reccomend), then pick a pro with a brain and stick with him/her. Be leary of advice you get from the "arm chair" swing doctors. Golf is more complicated than many people think, now some guys on here are pretty sharp...however, most (when attempting to diagnose as issue) are just regurgitating a golf digest article they recently read or a lesson they got that worked.

Now, Im off to go drink rum and think about Erik/Iacas's last thread....

well i finishes my lesson today...... once he watched my swing on camera the verdict was i was not shifting my weight fully.... at impact my left leg "leg closest to the target" was not bowed to the target but instead leaning back towards me!! he said i was resticting my weight shift causeing me to come over the top.... sure enough after i watch the video i started hitting better!!!! he gave me this video as an example http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=QL_6M_xZvq0
