My parents bought me a little golf teetime gift card for Christmas. My wife reminded me of this last night, so I figured I'd use it for a round of golf. Well, I tried to the toll free number - disconnected. I tried their website, it's down. I used google, there were two searches that came back to the page - both came back to information security, which for me, spells scam.

I could be 100% wrong, curious if anybody has used them or has any info.

Thanks,

Jason

back door

You are like a backdoor ninja

Phone listed is same, still disconnected.....tried to book, "online reservations are not available at this time".....methinks either out of business or scam.....son of a **********

I got one and just called the last week and booked a tee time. its not a scam dont worry. ill try and find the number i used to call them. the only thing is if your booking for a group and just want to use your card for you, you still have to pay for the whole group up front.

For me, that makes it a scam......can I just book a time for me, or do I have to book the standard party of 4 - is so, my parents are smart people, likely it was not disclosed I would have to pay for 3 others because they would not buy something like that for themselves, much less for a gift.....oh well, it was a nice gesture......if the phone gets reconnected or the site starts to work, I'll see about a refund....

Thanks for your input and post, very helpful....

Six years ago, my wife purchased me a similar gift certificate from a different company. Nine months after getting the gift, I tried to use the certificate for the first time. I called the phone number and the telephone answerer stated the company was out of business and was no longer honoring the tee times. He also stated that a cash refund was not possible. My wife and I have since avoided third party tee time gift certificates.

I used this site last year b/c my company was giving out $75 gift cards from them. Didn't know they were having trouble though....honestly they're more of a concierge type service.

Too funny.

The office was quiet until I came back to read up on this thread. Unfortunately, I wasn't invited to make an appearance in that movie.....

Kinda OT but I figured I'd try to spread the word.

Not to bag on you or your family, BP, but gift cards are a poor gift. Have you noticed the explosion of the gift cards available? They have entire racks full of every type of card. Wonder why? Because it's a huge money maker for the corps when people don't spend the full amount or sometimes, they forget altogether they were given a gift. Your story is a perfect example, your wife had to remind you you had the card.

I won't bore you all with the particulars. If you're interested just google something like "gift card waste of money" or something like that.

Whoever came up with the saying, "A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work", is a moron.

I love getting and recieving gift cards.

Many actual gifts are given that are not used, or not used to their full value. If someone gave me a putter, and I like the one I currently have, didn't they just waste their money too? Lame arguement.

Its also lame of you to rip on peoples choice of gift. I think he got a great gift from his wife.

Greetings! Hate for my first post to be bad news, but it does appear that these gift cards are no longer valid. I've gone to the website, and the "backdoor ninja" way and tee times cannot be booked online.

When you call the 888 number, you get a recording that says they're out of business, but to leave your name and number and someone will call and try to get this resolved. I called 24 hours ago and left my name/number and haven't heard a peep.

Oh well...it's the thought that counts I guess. Just pissed that my wife is out $50.

Hi I just tried to use the website to make a tee time for me. It's saying not available at this time and the number listed says out of business. Thats messed up cause I saw these things all over the place so am betting that there is still a lot of these out there that are unused:(

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
