I was playing around with a Ping Karsten Craz-E putter today at Golf Galaxy. I always hit different putters when I'm there, but I'd never touched that one before...

Safe to say, it was love at first site. Ravishing, immediate love. In fact, I liked it so much I distrusted my reaction and walked out before I bought it its very reasonable price (119 bucks).

My question is: Does anybody else play a Karsten Craz-E, In Craz-E or Wack-E or Craz-D from Ping? If so, how do you like it? Advantages? Drawbacks?

Even though I'm in love, I'm trying not to go head-long into something and end up with a child out of wedlock...err...purchase I regret.

I played a Craz-E heel shafted putter. Very good. Just turned out I became a Scotty follower.

Best way to judge a putter. Is alignment natural for you, second intuitive. Second can you control the speed-as in the ladder drill. If both are good then bag the putter.

I have used the Karsten for about 2 years and love it... I have the Craz-E putter in all the models and I just purchased the IN series one and use that one on faster greens. For mid to slower greens I use my Karsten and love it.

I love the Craz-e. It is the one club in my bag that has never let me down. I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

I played a Craz-e for 2 years. I had a really hard time judging distances and I found the inert a bit too soft for my liking. But I loved how it felt at set up and how good it felt swinging. Other than the distance drawback I loved it and still do. I am thinking about picking up the scotty kombi as the shape and how it sits are extremely similar to the Ping.

I played the Craze-E for about 6 months, I loved it at first then found I had trouble with distance control. It is now in my son's bag at he is doing very well with it. I've returned to using my old off brand blade.

I bought one about 3 years ago from someone at work and gave $50 for it and it was like new...I LOOOVED it, but ended up going back to my Mizuno, and ended up selling it to a friend....I regret selling that putter everyday! It's a GREAT putter and it was perfectly balanced. I would love to have it back, but he is not wanting to sell it back to me.

I ended up buying it. I'll update next week once I get it on the course a few times.

When I read the bit I have highlighted in bold first I was sure it said I distrusted my erection!

But then who knows maybe you were close to one of those too!

Mentally...sure.

I went back and bought it...and it passes the living room test with flying colors. Not sure if it'll pass the wife test, though.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
