I noticed a couple of weeks ago when I went to the PGA Tour Superstore in Frisco that they had a limited supply of Titleist golf balls, clubs, bags, etc... apparently the stores were selling ProV1's below MSRP and Acushnet pulled their account... looks like I'll have to shop elsewhere for golf balls

It wouldn't be due to selling below MSRP. MSRP is like $58... and nobody sells them for that. Maybe they violated the MAP policy (minimum advertised price), but not MSRP.

I was told the same thing by an employee at the Myrtle Beach store a couple of weeks ago.

He said that Acushnet wouldn't even pick up the phone for Arthur Blank. ( unsure how he would know that)

Sounds like Titleist wants to elicit some groveling from a retailer. Whatever dispute the two parties are having, I wouldn't expect it to last long.

You're right, MAP... From what I understand they were selling them for $36.99...

I was just in the one in Scottsdale and bought some ProV1's. But I bought them at normal price ($45), not $36.99.

They were selling them for $36.99 which is why their account was pulled... Doubtful they'd keep doing it, especially if they want to sell Titleist and FootJoy in the future

This situation doesn't surprise me really, titleist as a company (from a retailers perspective) sucks. Shit, titlelist won't even let us sell Pro-V1's, and I work at a damn sporting goods chain that has over 100 stores. They have some contractual obligation that requires X amount of PGA professionals on staff in the store chain or something (whether they do anything or not)...yet Target can sell them (my manager took pictures and sent them to corporate for proof lol) We sell Nike One Tour/TourD, Callaway Tour i/ix, Taylormade TP Red/Black, Bridgestone B330/RX....yet titlelist won't let us sell a pro v 1...but we can sell NXT Tour, HP3, DT Carry/Roll and so on. I guess basically, they have brand power, they know they have said power, and will abuse it if you do anything that bothers them lol, including god forbid selling their cashcow of a golf ball for less than $45/doz.

Found some more info from avid golfer magazine:
Update: After doing some additional research, it seems this incident
stems from the grand opening of the Naples, Florida store in December
2009. Acushnet pulled the account around Christmas. Titleist had a
Holiday promotion $39.99 MRP VERY STRICT as they were giving the
accounts one free dozen per six purchased for the promotion. All
accounts were told it would be very strict.

PGASS had them at $36.99 for their grand opening. Titleist got wind of
what PGASS was doing and yanked their account, stating "Acushnet's and
PGASS business models are not compatible."

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
