It especially sucks now that golf season is pretty much in full steam and you'd be without your putter for a few weeks...I sent mine in the winter and got it back just in time.

On another note. I have had a few people say that they have had Scotty Headcovers stolen or won't bring certain covers out in fear of them being stolen. Has this happened to any of you? I'm no collector, so whatever I buy, I'm playing.

I personally never let my bag out of my sight, but that's really just because at the course I play at you just pull up and hope onto the first tee or the range without having to go inside to sign in or pay. If I'm going to go inside to get a bite to eat or shop in the pro shop, I'll put my clubs in my car.

Buying a "Custom Shop" headcover without sending your putter into the Custom Shop is like buying a Disney World t-shirt online and wearing it even though you've never set foot in the state of Florida. Or it's like putting Cobra badges all over you V6 Mustang. It just doesn't make sense.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

I do realize it's a "custom shop" headcover, but I still fail to see why they need to confirm that I actually have a Scotty Cameron putter in my possession before I'm able to purchase a custom headcover. Hell, I'm even all for them confirming I have a putter in my possession by serial number or something like that but to have to send it in and be without it for weeks at a time just to purchase a custom headcover?

He won't change the lie more than a few degrees because of the risk of breaking it.

I understand not wanting to break putters but he should know his products enough to know that you can bend the lie more than 2 degrees, which is the max amount he will bed it for you if you send it in. I had mine personally bent 4 degrees with no problem.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

I don't think Scotty Cameron has it set up so that he's trying to prove you ahve a putter before you can buy accessories. It's not a matter of "confirming you own a Scotty Cameron putter" as much as it's you are sending it to the Custom Shop to have it customized to your personal preferences and the headcover is one of the customization options. It's almost like a "badge of honor" for having custom work done. That being said, you can always join Club Cameron (you register through www.scottycameron.com ) and get in on purchasing the "Limited Edition" headcovers that he sells through there. You don't need to own a putter and/or prove that you do; all you have to do is sign up and pay your annual fee. I personally think it's a huge waste of money unless you are obsessed with SC stuff, but to each his own.

Not sure that's true anymore? I just had the lie on my Newport 2 Mid Slant bent to 68 degrees and the loft to 3 degrees. They never told me that they would only bend it two degrees.

That's the point I've been trying to make though. You send your putter in to be customized to your personal preferences, fair enough. There should be absolutely no reason to send in the putter to get a custom headcover if you're not having any work done to your putter. True the headcover is technically an option for the custom shop, but the fact remains is that they don't NEED the putter to allow a headcover purchase as they're not actually customizing anything on the putter, which is the whole point of the Custom Shop.

I agree. Huge waste of money. I'm not a Cameron crazy by any means. Just want a blue headcover to match the blue paintfill I just put in my putter and don't want to pay twice the price on ebay to get it.

Im kinda new to golf, but I know how nice SC putters are... and I just bought my second one. I agree with the frustrations from the people on here. I think its a bit ridiculous that people are aloud to price gouge on eBay for something that normally costs $35 from Scotty Cameron. I myself was looking for a "custom shop turbo blue" headcover, and only because it matches my blue dotted studio select putter I just bought three weeks ago. Those "stock" silver ones they give us are hideous! And ill admit that I wont put it on my putter. Im currently using an old SC Studio Stainless cover I found in a bargain bin at Roger Dunn.

Does anyone know how we can have an opportunity to buy direct from Scotty for the "limited edition" stuff that they put out? Is that part of the club you gotta join? Does anyone happen to know if Scotty Cameron will deal with you from their building? Carlsbad is only 30-45 mins from me. It might be worth it to go there, but not if its despondent.

In my Ogio bag.

Titleist 910D2 driver, Adams irons & hybrid, Callaway wedges & a Nike Method putter.

And a yellow ball.

I was looking for a turbo blue as well. Just changed the paintfill on my Cameron to translucent blue, so need headcover to match. No you can't get the limited edition stuff unless you're in the Cameron club (I think... could be wrong). You also can't deal with them directly as I believe I've seen on their site that walk ins are not welcome.

Wow. That's dissapointing. Kinda impersonable if you ask me...
