From the clubhouse or over the clubhouse? What is going on? I guess he is getting a drop now. I wish they found that ball on the roof...

Apparently, his ball was found and he was given a free drop. I thought there was a time limit on finding a lost ball before you have to rehit with penalty. Is that wrong????????????

I'm just following the play-by-play on the leaderboard online - what the heck did he do with his second shot?

His second shot hit the sidewalk/cartpath long and right of the green and it bounced onto the roof of the clubhouse. The official said somebody picked up the ball in the parking lot over the clubhouse. Theres no o.b. stakes there. They determined it was interfered with by an outside agent and gave Tiger a drop under the temp. immovable object rule.

i just watched the interview with tiger on ESPN.

Am i right in hearing he said "stevie estimated the 9 iron at about 212 yards".

Jesus he can hit his 9 iron 212 yards .. holy crap.

I'm terrible, but i have fun.

This sounds like a good podcast topic to me I'm still a little upset that ball didn't stay on the roof. Having Tiger hit it off the roof to save par wold have been a sight to see.

You know, on that zoomed in slow-mo version they did, I could see the ball going over that air conditioning unit. It makes sense they found it on the other side.

A 212-yard 9-iron though, eh? Hmmmm. And he nipped the lip for par after all of that.

He must have shut the clubface down a whole bunch to hit it that far.

He didn't... watch the video sometime.

In actuality it went over 250... but Stevie's 212 estimate is to the cart path.

It's not a lost ball if it's lost in a TIO. The TIO was the grandstands, not the clubhouse.

In all truth it probably SHOULD have been marked OB, but it was not, so TIO was the ruling.

unimaginable hitting a 9 iron 212 yards. Add that to the discussion about tiger hitting regularly lofted clubs, makes it even more crazy .....

Thanks for the clarification.

Another wild thing about that shot was the proximity of the fans to the path of Tigers ball. It looked on tv like Tiger was aiming to launch his shot over the heads of people only 25 or 30 yards ahead of him. Even with the worlds best golfer, a little thin = death

I noticed that also. I'm surprized that he hit that ball with people right in front of his line. That was not kosher and I think they said there was no out of bounds on that hole and I have my doubts that someone picked up that ball. It was never returned to Tiger so in reality it was a lost ball and should have been played as such. He got a break on that one.

The ball was returned to Tiger. Stevie Williams was carrying it around.

Besides, balls known to be lost in GUR or TIOs are not deemed "lost" anyway.

...so is this what Sergio was talking about when he said Tiger gets all the breaks?

His playing partner (McDowell, not Gore) hit almost the same exact shot except it hit a spectator instead of bouncing onto (and rolling over) the roof). He got the same ruling.
