I joined my 15 year old son and his friends birthday party playing paint ball this weekend. He had 8 friends but one was a no show so I filled in. It was fun but hurts when you get hit in the head or the side with little protection.

I won the 2 player match and very first match I got shot before I even shot the gun. Something that you might want to try at least one time.

I played once with a bachelor party group a few years ago. We (drunk bachelor party attendees) were a team against a bunch of die-hard, full-paint-ball-jacket fools. We played a Capture the Flag game. It came down to me and one guy on the other team as the only remaining survivors. I hid in a good spot and waited for him to show... He did, eventually.

I saw him lurking - and duck into a hiding spot., he never saw me. I crept up behind him and gave him a chance to surrender. He turned with his gun raised — so I shot him three times in succession. We won! Dude was none too pleased.

Me and my buddies used to play every weekend when I was in college, always had a blast. I've been threatening to get back into it, but I'm not sure if at 32 I could handle it any more.

You can def handle it. Check out a video on you tube called the unknown soldiers its a bunch of guys who nobody said would make it in paintball rangeing all differnt ages at the beggining. I think the two head guys are upper twentys low thirtys.

But yeah one of teh best sports ever invented. The only thing that sucks is i live in fl so in the summer its to freaking hot to play but in the winter i play every saturday. Never thought there was a more expensive sport then golf til i started paintballing.

Wow you're pretty much an awesome dad. I played paintball when I was 13 or 14 with a group birthday party and three dads came along in camo, face paint, the whole shabang... It was hilarious to all of us until we realized they were actually serious and had us all crying by the end of the day... Rules don't apply when you're twice the age of the referees and paying the game fees I guess - was an awesome time for sure.

My friends and I used to play in shorts and t-shirts - it's a lot more of an adrenaline rush when you know getting hit is *really* going to hurt.

I used to love going paintballing, and I still do on occasion. I personally find it too expensive, especially for a 16 year old searching for a summer job, and I'd much rather spend my money on golf!

Played a few times with my bro-in-law, he got shot in the apple bag and ended up in the ER. He was stupid and wearing gym shorts.

Yes, I had some splanin to do with my sister.

I was on a paintball team in high school...we never did speedball, though, just woods ball. We played just about every weekend and it was a lot of fun. If you haven't done it, I would suggest trying it. It's a lot more difficult that you may think. The re-enactment games are fun too.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
