Well I have a feeling this thread would be valuable to alot of people, and I wanted to ask, how does one start from the ground up again, to almost (In computer terms) format his swing.

Is there a certain series of drills I could follow just to get my swing back to the basics? I'm thinking maybe literally from the ground up, footwork to legs, to chest, to shoulders, to arms. Whatever it may be, tell me what you know about that.

Well when i was first taught golf, i was taught short swings. If you look at a clock and your golf club is at 6, think 9 to 3, or 8 to 5. Get those basics back and through. Then work your way up the clock.

The rotation drill. Address a ball, holding a club across your chest. Rotate back and through. Get the feel of what your whole body is doing. That's my favorite cure-all basic backswing drill.

If I'm in need of a reboost in my swing and something is definitely off, I put the balls away and just swing. I slow everything down to 50% especially on the back swing and pay close attention to my back swing, then back down, etc etc etc.

I can usually pin point exactly where my swing is off when I do this. Either the face is closed mid back swing, or closed at top of back swing, or my shoulders aren't turning, or etc etc etc. Millions of things go wrong and slowing down and consciously feeling and watching my swing reveals it for me.

So simple yet so true... I need to do this very thing.
