So, for a lot of people, owning a Scotty is a lifestyle. From the world of collecting, to the name itself. So for everyone out the there that is part of that family:

What do you game? What headcover(s) do you own or use? Have you sent it to the CS? Do you plan to? What is in your future with your Scotty?

I game a Circa 62 #3 with a 2009 Skeladog headcover. I was going to send it in, but I just tried the California Del Mar and am in love.

I can't wait for Scotty to come out with a headcover dedicated to Hot Head Harry (shown on the 2010 Masters headcover).

I just got my first Scotty a few weeks ago. It's a NP 2.5 and I love it. I really like SC putters and while it's an excessive purchase for someone of my skill level, putting is the only part of my game that I'm actually somewhat decent at so I figured I might as well have a nice putter :)

I have to admit though...I don't get the headcover thing. People collect all sorts of these headcovers and spend a lot of money on them. I just want a black AM&E; cover so I can get rid of the silver and red dot cover my putter came with as it's just too flashy for me. Maybe even a nice black Scotty cover would work, but not at the prices that they go for.

Still, the putters are awesome though and for an avid player I could even see spending more on some of the more rare SC style putters if that is your thing. There is nothing like having a putter that you are perfectly comfortable with and enjoy using as it makes both play and practice a more enjoyable experience.

I got the Newport 2, but I thinking of divorcing from the family. My girl is attractive, but I cant hit it that well. I am going for that big bottom 2-ball hoping she will treat me right(XG F7).

Well I'm a new addition to the family since I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. I've actually yet to play with it since the weather has SUCKED here. That being said, I tend to look at it way more from a functional standpoint. I like their putters and the way they feel. Our hope our "relationship" becomes one that lasts ages. We'll see. As Slide13 said, I don't quite get the whole headcover thing. I actually use a Ping Karsten HC for mine as not to attract attention. But to each his own.

I disguise my cameron as well, usually with an old knit fairway wood cover. My cameron is an old studio design #2, so it's not exactly the flashiest thing out there, but the headcovers are so recognizeable I'm afraid someone might get sticky fingers when I'm not looking.

Studio Design Newport (gamer) & Newport 1.5, both are 33" with standard covers ..... these will never see the custom shop unless they break or get tweaked somehow

I have a 33" Cali Del Mar that might get my initials stamped in it one day. Its my gamer. I dont see myself buyin a putter to sit on a shelf.

I myself, love all the different headcover that Scotty makes. I get them when I can, but don't look at it as a waste of money, but more of a quick investment. They really never seem to go down in value if you keep them new. I have bought a few at $72 and sold them on ebay for around $130 - $160. But I keep the ones I really like, and will just sell them down the road if I need to.

I've got a Newport 2, but haven't purchased any other SC equipment. While looking for a headcover, I came across a cheap and reasonably good looking one, cost me £10. I can't be bothered buying an expensive headcover when the club itself is so pricey. If I won the lottery, I might consider buying an exclusive ona, if I needed the money I could just sell it again. Those covers usually go for the same price over and over.

My £10 ($15) cover, not made by SC.

I have a studio select newport 2 and fastback, an older newport with a long neck (i forget the name of it) and a studio design prototype #6. Apparently the headcover from the prototype #6 is worth more than the actual putter, which doenst make much sense to me, lol.

I have a Squareback #1 and #2 a studio 2.7 and Circa 62 #6. I Game the Squareback #2 with the Circa Head cover. I also have the skeledog head cover for special rounds. Collecting the head covers may seem a bit odd but as far as collecting goes they are not that pricey. People collect all sorts of wacky things:)

I prefer Bettis over Scotties, however, my sister and I did recently get my dad a Studio Select Kombi S, 33", 1* flat for his birthday. He loves it.

I have the Studio Select Squareback 2 with an accident orange "Scotty's Custom Shop" headcover.

Over the winter, I may send it in for an orange grip, orange paintfill and maybe some stamps/initials. I usually don't leave my clubs in the open, so i'm not too worried about theft. my golfing buddy also has a cameron, so we'll take turns guarding the clubs if one of us has to use the bathroom, get a drink, etc.

I am by no means a diehard Scotty Cameron fan, but I am a bit of an equipment junkie and went through a "putter phase" not too long ago. The Scotty Cameron putters I have are:

- Studio Select Newport 2 (360g/34.5") - This is my gamer. It was originally a 33" model that I got for free from playing in a pro-am. I lengthened it and left the 20g weights in it (35" has 10g, 34" has 15g). I also removed all the stock paintfill and filled in the triple dots on the back and on the face with black paint.
- Studio Design #2 (330g/34.5") - I bought this one used from a local golf shop earlier this year. I've always used with Anser-style putters or mallets, so this one was my first "blade" putter and my first putter with a lot of toe hang. It was in good condition when I bought it, but I re-did the paintfill to make it look a lot better.
- TeI3 Newport (330g/34.5") - I bought this one new when I was a kid and didn't treat it well at all. It had been sitting in my parent's garage for the past several years until I finally pulled it out last year to have it sent off to the Custom Shop for a complete restoration. I had them put the Pro Platinum finish on it as well as add one sightline on the back flange and stamp my initials on the back bumper. There is a earlier topic on here somewhere that I started about it when I first got it back from the CS.

As for headcovers, I have a few but refuse to pay triple-digit prices for one. The ones I own are those that I really like but for whatever aren't as expensive as others out there. I have the following:
- Jackpot Johnny - I got this one when I sent my TeI3 into the Custom Shop. It's not my favorite (don't like white headcovers), but it was unique and rare enough that I couldn't pass up getting it
- '09 Club Cameron (my "backup" gamer)
- '07 Club Cameron (my gamer)
- '06 Masters (black)
- '07 British bagpiper (I love the tartan inside part)

One thing too is that all my Scotty Cameron putters have a black Baby T grip on them. I've yet to find a better grip anywhere.

I've got a Studio Style Newport 2 that I'm using right now. Aside from a mini slump not too long ago I've been putting well with it. Still, I'm contemplating a change to either; Studio Select, Studio Stainless, maybe a Circa #3 or something older if I can find it, like a Pro Platinum. I like the Newport 2 head.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
