Hi all,

I've been playing with my dad's clubs for a while, but they're (I believe) designed for a low handicapper and they're stiff flex, which does not suit my swing speed at all.

I looked up on Titleist's website, and they look exactly like the DCI 962/962B, but there's no model label on the rear facing top of the head...i.e., if you were standing in a golf stance, the top of the head facing towards the back (it would be upside-down). If you were holding the head of the iron so you could read the DCI logo, it would be on the bottom edge. Pic for reference: http://www.titleist.com/historical_c...ails.asp?id=18

I just wasn't sure if they didn't include the model number on some, or if anyone might have any idea what the deal is. I'm contemplating selling the clubs and putting the proceeds towards a set of irons that matches my swing speed and is a bit more forgiving. Thanks in advance for any assistance...and if anyone wants dibs on them, give me a reasonable offer :).

A picture would really help, but before Titleist stamped 962 on the club, there was no 962, but they were identical.

They were clubs designed for a good amateur or professional, but they were a very good club, and with the right shaft, would be a decent choice for golfers of most ability.

Cheers, Allan

That answers my question. It looks exactly identical to the picture linked above asides from the lack of 962 on the club. I'm guessing these are from one of the first years the clubs were released. Thank you!

What is included with your set? Looks like they were available starting with a 1-iron down to a 9 and three or four wedges. If you had the full 1-9+wedges set I'd be tempted. A local shop had two sets of DCI trade-ins a few weeks ago, 3-9+PW, for $75-$90 or so.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
