Put all your views on this superb event here...

Got to say that the field for this event is awesome especially with the Byron on this week too.
Good to see people like McIlroy, Els, Casey, Poulter & Westwood here & playing the top British European Tour event as well as Luke Donald & Harrington coming over from the USPGA tour to play.
After 2 days sad to see Poults miss the cut but little Luke Donald is doing well. But Rory looks like he might make it into the weekend on the cut line...a Quail Hollow again anyone?
The course changes to Wentworth by Ernie Els has really toughened it up, the final 3 or 4 holes are now really difficult I feel.

Thoughts if you are watching??

I haven't watched any of the tournament so far, but some of the scores down the leaderboard are atrocious. Wentworth has to be playing really tough now.

I'm surprised that more Americans don't fly over for this event. Ben Curtis made the flight last year, finished in the top 5, and the result made his year.

As my mate said the UK tracks are often a lot more difficult than the standard "target" golf we see week in week out on the PGA Tour (which I love watching & just fired up laptop to watch Byron event right now). At the end of play today cut looked to be around +2/3. What Els has changed, new water hazards 5 new greens steep PGA-like runoffs etc has turned Wentworth into a monster & got the top players crying a bit lol
And I dont understand why more Americans dont fly over, shame really I think Lefty would try & tear the place to shreds.

I've really enjoyed the coverage on The Golf Channel. This is one of the events I wake up early to watch in the morning.

It's been entertaining. But I really think they changed too much on the course. The 18th is a disaster.Long par 5 that now has a massive burn and two bunkers protecting an elevated green that's so small that even if by some miracle you did reach it, there's little chance the ball would stay on.Result - practically no one will try going for it in 2, which lowers the final hole drama considerably. The par 5's were Wentworth's trademark and they've made a mess of the 18th, and changed another to a 495 yard par 4. Overzealous design and I'm not surprised Ernie Els argued with the owner over many of the changes.

I think Padraig might do it this week.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

Tell this to Ernie who hit 3-wood 7 iron into the green and put it to about 15 feet. Shame he didn't make eagle though, tap in bird.

It's a good tournament and great course, especially the redesigned 18th with stream cutting off the green from the fairway and nasty DEEP bunkers for fliers.

BTW, Poulter & Westwood missed the cut

edit, and Miguel Jimenez damn! I like watching Angel play too

Well he did design it, you'd expect him to play it half decently.Although he did put one in the water on Thursday. All depends on wind direction and strenght.

For all the talk about how tough Wentworth has been playing, Robert Karlsson woke up this morning and shot a 62. He's now at 6-under and tied for the lead as the last groups are just now teeing off.

CORRECTION: Karlsson didn't wake up this morning. He flew home to Monaco after his second round, thinking he had missed the cut. He spent the night making it back to London (including a long stopover in Paris while arranging for a private jet to take him over the Channel) and went straight to the course to make his tee time.

That lanky kid is really taking over the tournament now. Perhaps he's tired of hearing the press gush about other young players that don't have two top-5 finishes in majors yet; maybe he wants to make a move into the top 50 in the world rankings or top 5 in the Race to Dubai so he can sleep in on Monday and not worry about the European sectionals for the US Open. Either way, Wentworth is looking like Chris Wood's coming-out party right now.

Yea even Westwood is back in too, they got help from the field

I swear Chris Wood had on the same shirt as yesterday or the first round, yea? anyway he's at -8 leading it by 2
