I am thinking of training my swing using the online instructor, according to some reviews I got they can be effective, what do you think? Can it have the same result as training personally with an instructor?

I currently have an online instructor and have done traditional face-to-face instruction.
I prefer online
--much more efficient and cost effective--save a ton of time not having to drive to and from the golf pro's location
--more focused instruction--the lessons online are briefer--really focusing on just one or two changes at a time. With more traditional face-to-face instruction, sometimes you can get lost in all the details
--more flexible--you can record and send in your swing on your schedule

The advantages of face-to-face instruction
--the instructor can physically touch you and force your club into the "proper positions" instead of learning the feel by yourself.

In my opinion, nothing beats a face to face, however.......with that said

I believe that for a low handicapper with a solid understanding of his/her swing as well as how a good swing should be could benefit effectively from online instruction. For a high handicapper or beginner, they really should seek out face to face.

I think if you can do both, you have the best of both worlds.

If you can do the first couple of lessons with someone in person, get to know the instructor, establish a rapport and the instructor at least has a real live representation of your swing to base on.

Then go on-line and not have the expense of time and travel. This works great for the little incremental improvements as that's when you can do the lessons online. When you want to do things where you want instructor to actually see you live, like for major changes or the short game, you can go in person.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I did one last week to see how my swing looked and to understand my slice. A simple grip change helped alot with it. For 25 bucks it was well worth it. I am going to a pro face to face next week for a one on one lesson, where like said above, i could be forced into a better position for what i may be doing wrong, thus feeling what it is supposed to be. It is easier to practice something when you know what it is supposed to be like.

Any recommendations for online instructors?
