Maltby, in my book, is trustworthy. His ratings have never steered me wrong.

Interesting, not sure how/why I've never heard of this before. Thanks

I find the Maltby MPF ratings to be a good guide, but not the be-all end-all of how easy or difficult a club is to hit-some of it still depends on your individual swing and how the club feels and reacts in your hands. That being said, the Callaway X-Forged are surprisingly easy to hit, when I made my recent irons purchase it was a toss up between the '07 X-Forged and my Mizuno MX-200s. The Mizunos are actually rated lower on the MPF scale, but I find them terribly easy to hit, and they feel fantastic. If you're looking for a forged cavity back moderate GI iron I'd recommend giving the Mizunos a look. The Diablo Forged are a good club, but I strongly prefer the MX-200s or MX-300s, and they're $300-$400 cheaper.

Do some research and try several other brands and get fit (preferably a professional) who isn't so biased. Most people would not hand a 26 handicap an $1100 set of forged irons.

It's not about handicap, it's about what feels good to the player. I've never, ever been asked by someone selling me golf clubs what my handicap is. Pretty bullish if you ask me. I went in dead-set on getting the MP-58s. Hit them for 5 minutes while the guy watched. He then gave me a Diablo forged 6 iron and the rest is history. It felt so good to me. I also hit the X-22 and the new MacGregor VIP, none of them felt to me as good as the Diablo.

Definitely recommend getting fit. I don't care where your swing is, get fit.

I found the same thing. The X-22 was definitely nice but the Diablo forged just felt so good lol. I'm playing 02 Big Bertha's right now and as many of you already know I don't feel anything. Swing the club and watch the ball fly, just like they were designed to do lol. Luckily my regular partner and I each pay attention to each other's swings and ball flights so he can tel me what I just did because the club doesn't. There is no feedback. The forged felt good, but I was getting some feedback which is what I want right now.

In my bag:

Nike SQ DYMO 10.5
Big Bertha 3 Wood
Big Bertha 3-10 IADAMS Tom Watson Classic 54,58 and 64 Wedges Nike Oz 5 Putter/Wilson Staff ( not sure model, bought it in second hand store ) Ball: Bridgestone E6

These irons are easy to hit with a sweet feel anybody saying different has to be bias towards the clubs. No they are not as soft as mizuno blades or an mp iron of any sort but they are dang good feeling and playable for not just low handicappers! Flat out give them a try!
